COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abv varies from 5% to 6.5%.

German inspired sour wheat beer (based on our Été Indien). The obvious and domineering acidity of this beer is obtained by letting the unboiled wort go sour for several days. The Solstice d’Été is made complete by the addition, during the fermentation process, of a phenomenal quantity of whole fruit (raspberries or cherries) which compensate for the sourness of the beer. The result is a very refreshing beer where both acidity and fruity flavours dominate wholeheartedly.

Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle tasting. Thanks to Paul for this one. Almost clear pink tinted red beer, small but bright pink head. Palate is light, mildly crisp and semi dry. Nice cherry, not too sour and just a little tart, Whisper of marzipan. Trace of tangy lemon. Light crisp finish. Decent.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours clear, bright pink with a frothy red head. Lovely aroma with pitty cherries, grape skin, hints of wood. Light sweet flavor with tart, quenching cherries, moderate acidity, some grass, salt. Light bodied with average, sprtzy carbonation. Refreshing finish with more tart cherries, mild tannins, slight bitter grass. Lovely stuff. Supremely drinkable.

Tasting at Matt’s; 5.9% ABV
Bright blood and ruby color with pinkish color. Very nice aroma, lively, some cherry, but the mild acidity creates a berry impression. Dry, tart, light cherry flavor, but weak; light final astringency.
Simpler than expected; very nice aroma, but lacking in flavor.

Bottle shared thanks to Bropey, CBC Clerko, 30/09/14. Cherry red with a decent crimson covering. Nose is cherry drops, puff of smoke, straw, red berry sherbets. Taste comprises light acidic notes, tanfy cherry skins, more cherry drop sweetness, spice, light woody rinse. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tangy cherry wash in the close. Decent ’Linner.

Bottle, pours a pinkish ruby red with a small pink head. Aroma brings out heaps of potent tart cherries, wheat, and a little funk – this is a cherry bomb. Flavour is quite potent on the fruit as well, with lightly tart cherries, wheat, and a very small touch of funk. Hugely cherry-dominated. Doesn’t strike me as a Berliner, but this is exquisite nonetheless. Excellent stuff, but I do prefer the framboise.

Bottle - Sweet and tart cherry. Deep maroon and a thin white head. Very tart cherry notes, nice sweetness and a jammy cherry finish. Overall a lightly tart, but sweet beer that is exactly as described.

Draught, 5.8% at the brewpub. Subtle cherry sauce aroma. Hazy deep red colour. Very small white head. The flavour is nicely citric, does not taste much of fruit, but is balanced well by it. Dry finish.
