On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a lovely copper tinged orange with a very slight touch of haze under a medium sized white to beige head. Soft sour funk on the nose, a bit of sweet fruit. Medium bodied, soft sweetness and a nice bit of funk. The funk picks up a bit of a paper quality. Still a nice amount of fruitiness and a very light hint of acid into the finish. 14 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. The aroma has a ton of tart, green apple character, along with a good, funky Bretty nose. Quite fruity. Moderately hazy ruddy-amber colored body with a medium, creamy, firm off-white head present. Starts with some green-apple sourness. Becomes a little funky, but not too funky. Decent lacto and milk and cereal-like flavors in the middle. Finishes with a light berry sweetness. A nice, approachable sour, which isn’t over the top. Drank on tap (4 oz) at the Montreal brewpub on November 11, 2012. Honey golden little head. Sour sweet wheat aroma, hints of berries. Hazy amber color, with a beige head, light funky, fruity bretty, lactic yeastiness nose, with a wet winey woody, faint vanilla oakiness accent, and with some faint sweet and sour musty plum, berry accents, in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a mild yeasty funky, bretty, honeyed wheat, pale, toasted malt, fruity sour, vanilla oaky character, with some candied lemon peel, marmalade, wet barrel flavours, and a mild acidic juicy lime, lemon, green apple tartness, white wine tannic backbone, leading towards a funky bretty yeastiness, sour lemony, wheaty, vanilla oakiness finish. On tap at DDC. Pour a beautiful pale orange with a very thick white head. Aroma is very wood, somewhat musty, maybe a little lactic. Interesting brett and tropical fruits mixture. You can also feel the barrel treatment in the taste. Moderate acidity from the bugs and barrel, but there is also sweetness from the alcohol and fruits. A nice full bodied high abv sour, but my least favourite of the three.
