Draught at the brewpubjoeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 4, 2005
Copper color, thick white head, lots of lacing. Nose of bright hops, some creamy malts. The flavor is balanced with some underlying caramel malt and a pronounced body. Finishes balanced, well build and very tasty.
Hazy copper w/ small finger of off-white foam. Good lace. Fresh, hoppy aroma of grapefruit & orange w/ rich, toasted malts to support. Sticky, resiny feel. Flavour is hoppy & bitter but well-supported by a foundation of bready malt. Sweet notes of caramel & toffee round things off. Lingering finish. Crockett (1117) - Southampton, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 2, 2005
Pours light amber with a big lacing off white soapy head. Nose more of toasted malt than the piney soil and mossy hops. Toast and alcohol with a licorice/fennel note. Lush and full of leaves. Some well rounded caramel. Tea like tendancies. Stylishly build and balance is the strong point. mrkimchee (1414) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 30, 2005

draft during RBSG visit - soapy grapefruit aroma on a golden colored ale, topped with a soapy white head. lots of citrus in the taste, and not much else. a lite body and slight hop bite at the end made this a pretty boring ipa, but again, no big deal compared to what else DDC offers. hopscotch (11051) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 24, 2005
Draft...RBSG2005... Clear, burnt orange ale with a mid-sized, fizzy, off-white head. Floral nose. Mild hops. American black tea. Well-balanced flavor is lightly bitter with unsweetened black tea, juniper and lemon zest. Medium-bodied and creamy with light carbonation. Finishes lightly bitter and dry. On draught at DdC, 7/9/2005, RBSG. Large off-white head, thick and well-retained atop a duled-ruby, orange-amber body, clear, but with a slight chill-haze to begin. Smells leafy, lightly green, fresh hops with an earthiness expressing rich soil through brown malts. Brown bread, pumpernickel and light caramel sweetness. Texture is immediately aerated, fluffy and with dense bubbles popping all over the palate. Dry toffee and light breadiness sit, somewhat heavily, on the palate, as a subtle fruitiness can be noted (light apples, cherries, oranges). Medium-fine bubbles continue to rise, while light patches of lace are left as the liquide recedes. Finish has a crisp and yet playful bubbliness. Bitterness comes out quite restrained, on the end. Medium body overall, a very well-behaved beer. Some graham crackers linger. Great balance, very relaxed on the hops. SpringsLicker (3616) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 16, 2005
