Draft at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a creamy, frothy tan head. Tastes like dull coffee, burnt toast, sweet nuts, and roasted grains. Creamy, light/medium body and low carbonation. Tap. Pours dark brown with average, fizzy beige head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is earthy hops, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, figs, dates, and rye. Flavor matches the nose with a heavy dose of earthy hops, roast malt, and coffee along with some light chocolate and some dark fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Tap. Pours clear black with a medium, fizzy light tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate and coffee malt with earthy and pine hops and raisin notes. Flavor is dark malt dominant with medium hops and bitterness, spicy rye malt with dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
