On tap at the brewery in Dillon, CO. Nice dark brown color with an almost-doughy malt aroma. Gold medal winner, but seemed very similar to all other browns.

Draught at brewery. Clear dark brown colour with some ruby highlights. Light tan head. Aroma is slight malt and some roasted nuts. Flavour is thin but typical brown although it finished slightly sour. Average.

On tap. Brown color with little head. Fairly weak and watery. Despite the name, not really sweet. Some buttery flavor. Standard brown ale. Finishes quickly.

Rating from 3/06. On tap @ DD. English-style ale. Reddish brown color. Mild caramel and nutty aroma. Taste is sweet, nutty malt followed by earthy hops and a mildly bitter finish.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear medium reddish brown beverage with a small frothy off-white head that was mostly diminishing and left a little bit of lacing on the glass. The aroma was interesting with notes of caramel, spicy hops, aged leather and rock candy blending together to create an intriguing invitation to taste. The body was medium with soft carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor starts out lightly sweet and stays fairly consistent throughout the medium finish.

Draft. Not much aroma here; the color was a clearish light brown. The flavor was mostly of sweet caramel malt. Not bad for the style.

I see that my rating is quite a bit higher than everyone previous to me. I simply LOVED this beer! It had a sweeter taste with a defined caramel finish. The after taste lingers in your mouth like a refreshing dessert. Maybe it was the altitude, but this beer did it for me!

2.9
SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 20, 2006
On tap at the brewpub. Dark amber to light reddish brown in color with a thin off white head. Head retention poor. Aroma tough to pick out- bread dough and caramel, but very slight. Medium to thin body. Flavor is okay, but not something that build upon anything more than a basic mild choc/roasted taste.

hopdog (12584) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 15, 2006
On tap at the Dillon Dam Brewery & Restaurant. Poured a medium brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and toasted malts. Tastes of caramel, light roast, and chocolate. For a brown ale, this wasn’t bad.
