Billed as simply “Dark.” A deep reddish colored lager, smooth and neutral. More malt than hops. Very agreeable for those who don’t want a full-bodied dark bock or Oktoberfest beer. This is a good transitional beer for the beginning craft or import drinker who is looking to more forward toward more interesting beers. There’s nothing at all wrong with this beer, but there’s nothing great about it either.

Four of my friends and I were drinking last night when i ordered this. None of us could smell any hint of an aroma coming from this beer, when it was in the bottle or the glass. Asides from that the beer had decent malt flavor and wasn't too bad.

Apparently I had a better experience with this stuff than everyone else did; while it's definitely not spectacular I found it a reasonable dunkel suitable perhaps more for convivial occasions with a stogie and/or some good spicy food than for just sitting and drinking while watching cartoons (my favored method of drinking beer.)

Remarkably disappointing. Nice color, but the aroma was overwhelmingly musty, like broccoli. If I had to base a beer on its aroma, I would not have even tasted this. Fortunately there wasn't an offensive taste, as a matter of fact there was very little taste at all.

Thoroughly disappointing. Holding it up to the light, the appearance reminded me of dark, cherry cough syrup. Flavor was bland, with a hint of hops and fennel. The quality that seriously hurts this beer, however, is the aroma, which is foul and earthy. A beer can't be good if its aroma causese you to hesistate taking the first sip.

A thoroughly boring German dark. Tastes like a boring macrobrew dark, just not that much there. It's not bad as much as just largely unmemorable Too thin. Makes you wish you had an Optimator instead.

A good dark beer, but it didn't have all that much flavor...................
