Pours a brown color with a white head. Has a sweet hoppy aroma. Has a sweet flavor, mild chocolate and nut accents and some mild bitterness. Not bad. oldpainless (34) - fort mill, South Carolina, USA - JAN 25, 2008
Not a bad beer at all. Both draft & bottle(if fresh)
It has a bit of a sweet taste & more aftertaste than I want but all in all most fair. I like warsteiner dunkel much better though.. DWestrick (811) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 22, 2008
UPDATED: APR 21, 2008 I really liked this beer. Reminds me of a dopplebock but with less going on. Would like to try on tap - only had from bottle. STEPHENDR (478) - California, USA - JAN 5, 2008
12 oz. glass bottle- color of translucent brown , with a quickly dissipating thick light tan head - nose of sweet malts, hint of bananas, black pepper, and some metallic– taste of sweet malts, hint of bananas, and mocha- body is thin, but slightly oily, and with medium to high carbonation – aftertaste of sweet malts, hint of mocha

From Bottle: a small head leads to a espresso aroma. It had a very dark brown pour as well. Hoppy and sweet.

Old rating off a pile of forgotten notes. Pours clear dark amber with a thin off-white head. Light body, active carbonation. Light aroma of nuts. Taste is similarly light. Not a lot here. DuffMan (10664) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 1, 2007
Dark brown, golden at the edges, average whitish head. Sweet caramel aroma, perhaps a little bready. Straightforward caramel malt palate, brown sugar perhaps. Not bad, flavourful but not terribly complex. Maybe mine was too cold... cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - NOV 19, 2007
Part of a winter sampler, it’s a fairly nice Dunkel. Not much involved in the bland aroma, some faint caramel is present along with a metallic tinge. Dark murky pour with a half-inch vibrant tan head and spotty lacing. Very drinkable, clean with a nice aftertaste along with a mild bitterness. Flavor is subdued brown sugar and caramel malt, toffee and buttered toast. Lightly hopped with a nice balance. pintocb (654) - Hoon, Georgia, USA - OCT 10, 2007
Almost ruby in color. Smells malty and tastes malty. Not really my cup of tea so to speak. Very sweet flavor with a light, crisp finish. CIPS514 (77) - Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA - SEP 30, 2007
It has a gorgeous cream head that matches the color perfectly. I wasn’t a great fan but this beer did surprise me.
