Mild, slightly sweet, chocolatey flavor with good body, The aftertaste turns into something less savory than the initial flavor. Feels a little too heavy. DUbrew (49) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2004
Nothing special. Too light for its style and nothing really elicites your senses. Good head though

12 oz. bottle, purchased by a friend for my 30th birthday...Pours a clear, sparkling cherry wood with a small, cream colored frothy head. Spare lacing...Smell light perfume hops and definite caramel malts, also detect a light alcohol aroma...Early carbonation with an oddly sticky texture. Medium bodied and a definite metallic finish...Short earthy caramel flavor and lightly bitter...Best word to describe this brew is "odd". A dry, smoky, apple taste with not much else really going on. Not bad, but borderline boring. Could drink a few if I didn’t have many other options but I also wouldn’t care if I never had this again. oldpainless (34) - fort mill, South Carolina, USA - JAN 25, 2008
Not a bad beer at all. Both draft & bottle(if fresh)
It has a bit of a sweet taste & more aftertaste than I want but all in all most fair. I like warsteiner dunkel much better though.. captianoats (30) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - DEC 21, 2007
From Bottle: a small head leads to a espresso aroma. It had a very dark brown pour as well. Hoppy and sweet.

Aroma is interesting- sweet and salty, with a hint of soy sauce and even some berry notes. Flavor is full and rich, malty, sweet, toasty, with a bit of caramel and no perceptible bitterness. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but not watery. I like it! BudMan (17) - Kennesaw, Georgia, USA - SEP 23, 2000
very good, sweet aftertaste, nice aftertaste. frigidzephyr (14) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Draught at the Flying Saucer, dark and malty with red brown color. Small head, aroma was sweet , taste was zesty but left something missing. pugsbarcom (10) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 25, 2005
A middle of the road dunkel. Poors well and not much of a aftertaste. Wait for it to warm up some to bring out the flavour. Bland until about 55 - 60 degrees. umali (6) - Middleburg, New York, USA - OCT 25, 2004 does not count
Pours a dark red with a cream white head. Tastes sweet on top with a slight bitter after taste. an ok beer. nothing to get too excited about.
