Rather than give you a rating on my opinions of the Munich Dunkel style (like every other posting I read), I will judge how well this beer performs as an example of the style.
Complex malt character with hints of caramel. As is appropriate for this style, the hop bitterness is low but noticeable; balance is tipped towards maltiness. Dark brown color. No hop aroma; most of the aroma comes from the Munich malt. Aftertaste is dominated by the malt as well. Yeast fermented very cleanly; no diacetyl or esters.
Though the hops flavor tasted a little stale, most likely this was due to the extended period of time the beer spent on the shelf at my neighborhood store, not a mistake by the brewer.
I would recommend this beer. However, be wary of a long shelf life, as this probably isn’t a #1 seller.

Very malty aroma, sweet taste with lingering frothy lace. Subtle and underrated. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - FEB 22, 2004
Dark chocolate ruby brown with a large tan head. The aroma is very fruity with some cherries, brown sugar, honey and fig. Almost like a dopplebock here. The flavor was smooth and balanced and it finished medium bodied with a full mouthfeel. This was a good dunkel! tennisjoel (1448) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - AUG 18, 2005
Dark color. Brown with red tints when held up to the light. Nice thick creamy head. Fruity aroma. Nice bread doughy flavor with hints of caramel and molasses. A little syrupy. Not too bad. MattShizzle (613) - Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2005
Dark brown. Good flavor. Mostly clean tasting, but a slight off aftertaste. A good dunkel

UPDATED: APR 21, 2008 I really liked this beer. Reminds me of a dopplebock but with less going on. Would like to try on tap - only had from bottle. gerardoluna (193) - MEXICO - MAY 28, 2008

Mouse: Bitttter, with full body, great flavor a good german dunkel! Wulfstan (509) - California, USA - SEP 23, 2008
This is a nice dunkel. Dark, medium brown, it has a smallish off-white head steadily shrinking to a wispy top. The smell is sweet brown bread, toast, leaves, hay, hint of pine. The taste is dryish with toasted crust, leaves, hints of cola and root beer, a bit zesty, clean, very pleasant, but still a little on the bland side, yet very drinkable.
