Bottle from Beers of the World. Aroma of caramel, bread, and hay malts. Average.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2017 330 ml bottle into dimpled mug, bottled on 7/3/2017. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big brown sugar, brown bread, cracker, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread, cracker, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread, cracker, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.7%. Overall this is a delicious Oktoberfest! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and easy to drink with the mildy bitter/drying finish. Very rich and complex Munich malt flavors, solid hop flavor presence, and just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

pours a deep rusty amber. smallish white head. caramel malt and non-descript fruit aroma. the taste follows the nose. Somewhat light bodied. sweetish linger. not bad, but doesn't win my side by side with the Spaten Oktoberfest.

Think caramel malt aroma. Heavy Amber color with a caramel malt tast. An off white head that lingers quite awhile. Tasty and very drinkable.

Canned from BevMo! 5.7%abv. Medium amber in color with a medium head. Malty nose. Some sweet roastiness. Lightly sweet and roasty up front. Fairly mild with some graininess and some sweet malts in the finish. Decent brew.

Foerdifuxx (411) - Franconia, GERMANY - AUG 4, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2017 Clear golden coloured beer with a small to medium white head. Aromas of malt, caramel, honey, some hops, dried fruits, light cardboard. Taste is malty, medium sweet, light hoppy and light bitter with grain in finish. Bit mealy to sticky in texture, soft carbonation, medium body. Pure boredom, my last bottle went straight into the drain.

Calisky (3029) - ALSACE, FRANCE - JAN 6, 2017
Couleur dorée trouble, légère mousse. Nez malté un peu doux. Gout malt d’orge assez doux mais aqueux, avec leger houblon et pain. Fin legerement amere... vraiment grand public... / getrankemarkt marlen

33cl bottle as "Oktoberfest". Marketing is clearly aimed towards st. pauli girl drinkers with a big-titteid fraeuline on the front. It is an extremely dark oktoberfest reminding one of US-interpretations. It almost reminds me of st. ides in the aroma, boozy, corny, grain husky. Flavor is oxidized, caramel, herbs, savory note, mint. Meh...
