Bottle. Bright bronze with a fine white cap. Garden herbal aroma with mint, wax, toffee and orange smudges. As you were in the mouth; oily hop, herbs, toffee, plus some lamb and mint sauce. Bread and caramel emerging in the finish. Slick and oily with a dip of marzipan and cake. Fine, but nothing worth rushing back to.. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - AUG 25, 2004

50cl bottle. Poured copper color with a frothy white head. Woody, caramel malt aroma, flavor is caramel, some roastedness and woody/earth notes. Flawless, simple dunkel. Enjoyable. jonas (7549) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - AUG 6, 2004
A bit hard to shoehorn, could be a dark Vienna as well.
Fruity malty nose with a bit toast.
Orange amber color, little visible carbonation, nice frothy head.
Soft fruity malt flavors dominate, a tad nutty, dry hops towards the end.
Creamy mouthfeel, slightly flat.
Nourishing. BlackHaddock (7232) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2012
18 Oct 2011: Brown 500ml bottle best before the end of this month, so 12 days life left when poured into my lovely Wolnzacher Brauhaus glass tankard.
It looked fantastic, a bright amber body as clean as any beer on earth, on top an off-white head of quality.
The aroma was of earthy malts with hints of caramel and sweet molasses.
The taste an impeccable blend of all things good about German beers: the brew is obviously infused with the best ingrediants available and lovingly produced to a high standard.
Peppery aftertaste, earthy and filling, I had some rough brown bread and some mildly smoked ham with the last few drops of the beer and it suited the food beautifully.
Very impressed indeed.

Bottle from Erzengel - many thanks, Gabriel! The beer has got a deep dark brown colour with a small head and medium body. Aroma of malt, bread and straw. Taste of hops, dark bread, nuts, straw, basement and barley. Smooth to drink, yet nothing special. ekstedt (6708) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 2, 2008
Bottle (50 cl) from Toom Getränkemarkt, Würzburg, Germany. Clear amber with large off-white head. Malty and caramelly aroma with grassy hops. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Well balanced. MichaelAwesome (6516) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - MAY 22, 2015
Relativ klassisch eingebraut ohne grosse Hoehepunkte.
(bottle) pours a clear amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of dark fruit, caramel and hazelnuts, with lots of grain and mustiness. flavour is more on the roasted malt and coffee side of things, though still quite grainy, with a light roasted-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation. kappldav123 (6097) - GERMANY - OCT 12, 2010
The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass as well. Zippy, nice head. Starts malty, modest dry, a bit rusty, fruity notes of raisins. Also some light smoky notes. Well balanced finish, a bit warming, very drinkable. Great beer!
