COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth and creamy best describes this beer. Black malt creates the intense color while adding a touch of roasted flavor. A large amount of rolled oats enhances the creaminess created by using nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide for the bubbles. Hold a normal stout up to the light and it’s hard to see through. Hold this stout up to the light and the room turns dark!

Pours a deep brown color with a roasted malt aroma. Taste is slightly sweet with a burnt rolled oats flavor. The sweetness is truly evident at first sip then dissipates as you swallow. A dry, roasted malt aftertaste that finished the beer quite well.

On tap at the brewpub. Near black body with a decent head. Medium-full body and light soft carbonation which, with the smoothness from the oats, makes this feel like a cask ale.

solidfunk (8838) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - JUN 21, 2014
What I expect to be among their better beers but we’ll see. Light sweet breakfast oat aroma and some roast. Pours black with good head and lacing. Finishes with light sweetness and mostly bitter, consistent with style. Tap at brewpub.
