COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth and creamy best describes this beer. Black malt creates the intense color while adding a touch of roasted flavor. A large amount of rolled oats enhances the creaminess created by using nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide for the bubbles. Hold a normal stout up to the light and it’s hard to see through. Hold this stout up to the light and the room turns dark!

This was certainly one of the best beers available, though only a slightly better than average beer. Roasty and dark. Tried with Jess at the brewery in February.

On tap at the Brew Pub last week on vacation. Deep black with brown highlights in the light, small thick tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, and a bit of oats. Taste is roasted malts, light coffee and not too bitter. Excellent creamy mouthfeel from the nitrogen, and a thick & creamy body that the oatmeal adds, moderate carbonation.

Velvety head with light chocolate notes. A very clean version of an oatmeal stout but enjoyable just the same.

Draft at the source. Dark clear brown color, thick brige head, solid lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and light coffee. Taste is similar. Medium body. A much better beer than the BA version.

Draught at the brewpub. Almost black colour. Very small light brown head. The flavour is rather powerful, roasted and vinous. Some alcohol in the flavour and mouthfeel.

The oatmeal stout was pretty good. A little heavy on the coffee for my preference but still nice. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma and taste of coffee. Medium body.
