Cask. Pours near black with a beige head. A bit hot and heavy on the bourbon, with big vanilla, coffee, and roasted malts as well. Not bad. Travlr (26431) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 9, 2012
Cask handpull at the source. Dark maroon color, thick fluffy brown head. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla. Taste is mostly whiskey, the beer characteristics are hidden. Light body. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 9, 2011
I had the Woodford Reserve version but this should probably be aliased to the Bourbon Stout entry since the liquors are the same. This beer was dark brown with a loose tan foam . The aroma was simply hot bourbon, the taste was the same with a heavy burn. BeerandBlues2 (14027) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 10, 2010
Tap at District ChopHouse. Pours black with a large, fizzy brown head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma and flavor are so heavy of bourbon that very little malt, hops, or esters come through. This beer is very hot and harsh of bourbon, leaving little room to still call it a beer. scraff (2125) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 17, 2009
Cask - Black, tan foamy head. Fresh bourbon and vanilla oak nose with a soft roasty undercurrent. Rich bourbon flavors balance on a light wood and cocoa backbone throughout. Light to medium bodied with pillow soft carbonation. If you’re a fan of good bourbon...

Tap. Black, rocky dark brown head. Aroma is all bourbon. Sweet bourbon, vanilla extract nose. Smooth, light bodied (well thinner than the original oatmeal stout). Finishes with a watered down ’whiskey with water’ burn. Nice roast, lots of vanilla, and a good bit of brownie batter all in the flavor profile.
