330 ml fliptop / swingtop bottle, bought in Germany. Copper coloured, large and lasting offwhite head, nice lacing. Pleasant malty, slightly roasty and caramel aroma, notes of rye bread, some aromatic hops too. Flavour is reasonably malty and slightly roasty, hints of smoke and caramel. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Allegedly this is an authentic 16th century "Braunbier" - at any rate it is well worth sampling!

Bottle. Very dissappointing for a dunkel. Normally this catagory is a win-win for my tastebuds, but this was way off the mark. Heavy taste of metal and corn. Just not worth trying

From the pour, a nice head, a bit too much carbination and looks pretty clear/thin for a german dunkel. It does not smell much like a dunkel at all, a hint of malt and nut, but not nearly enough. A very weak, quickly deteriorating taste, with a hoppy aftertaste to the point of no longer tasting good. I would not reccomend this!

(Bottle 33 cl) Marne is a small town and the Dithmarscher brewery must be a tiny one. But the good people brew good quality beer, nicely presented in the small, cute and plump swing-top bottles. Brown with a reddish hue. Off-white head. Some sweetish notes from the malts, almost cinnamon-like flavours. Dry, very dry, appearance with a rather pronounced ashy bitterness. 220100

Bottle. Red-brown colour with a big baige head. Sweet malty caramel nutty aroma and a dry roasted caramel taste. Light body and a sweet thin finish.

A red-brown beer with a small light brown disappearing head. The aroma is sweet and sour - malty and hoppy. The flavor is mainly of straw, but with hints of caramel, while the mouthfeel is sticky.
