Brown with an off white head that is almost tan. Lots of piney hops with some hints of juniper or spruce. The flavor is similar but bittering hops come in to the picture as well as some hints of soapiness. Spicy!
On tap. Very dark brown brew with a big light brown creamy cap and endless lacing leaving rings. The main aroma is the dark malts that are not heavily roasted, dark citrus, apricots, grapefruit... it all seems to come across warm. Wow. What an interesting beer: intense roast, massive citrus grapefruit hops, lots and lots of pine... this is pretty much a hybrid IPA, probably a dark IPA. This has more pine than the IPA I just had, something almost chocolatey (mostly on the after taste). Apricots, pumpernickel crust ??, sweet candy. Excellent after taste! Junipers? More massive hops. Raisin like fruitiness beneath strong grapefruit C-hop character. Clear, dark brown body is topped by a low, off white head that recedes to ring with some lacing. Toasty malts up front are nearly overwhelmed by strong hop bitterness. Some dark malt astringency is apparent in the finish and grapefruit/tangerine hop flavours linger with the dark malts in the aftertaste. Enjoyed at the downtown brewpub. A brown ale that initially shows its hopped up C-hop and then a touch of BBQ sauce, and smoke in the finish. Smells like BBQ steak sauce, although a bit of Worchester. Never expected this, but I like it. Lots of creamy lace, a dark amber body. Interesting brown for sure.

Chestnut with a medium frothy head. Aroma was hoppy with brown bread malts and some raosty notes. Flavour starts rather hoppy but with a nice mix of roasted malts. Finishes slightly bitter.

Light brown with just the slightest haze. Thick, bubbly head. Strong toasty/dusty nose...woodiness too but like plywood. Sweetish front quickly fades to a balanced earthy, woody hop bitterness. Hints of toast but then bright mandarin Simcoe notes. I find this an odd combo but I bet it would grow on me.
