2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nice for its style. A golden yellow color with a white head that faded away quickly. Aroma had a nice sweet malt note to it and a mild hop bitterness. Flavor had good sweet malt notes and some mild corn flavor. A crisp smooth mouth-feel. Although it was a little one dimensional it was still enjoyable.
Dixie Lager - Six pack from Mike’s Food Mart on corner down St. Claude from Sneaky Pickle, a front line of gentrification where vegans mingle with old school St Clauders. On my knee refreshing me in Washington Square Park near Frenchmen with Jen and Melody laying in the grass. Basically the Lone Star of New Orleans. Recently revived by owner of Saints and Pelicans. The 90 year old bought the name and contract brews in in Memphis. The original brewery was damaged and looted after Katrina. This tastes refreshing and crisp, and just feels good to see that label again, facilitating imaginary time travel. I hope they make it the go to cheap beer and displace PBR in the city. I’m sure both hipsters and the old timers they are replacing can appreciate it equally. Maybe it will be the neutral/common ground between these opposing demographics. Obviously the new wave will win, but they, and humanity itself, will truly prosper if taking as much knowledge from the older generations along. So, for the love of the city, go out and spend some time with an old timer over a Dixie.

Been awhile. This is headache fuel...at least it was in the quantities I drank. Yikes. bth122 (1704) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 10, 2017
Bottle in Baton Rouge airport. Flight delayed 5 hours. Pours a gold yellow fizzy. Light head. Not much aroma. Taste of light grains, slight sign of hops and faint fruit. Light bodied. Not that good. Mattyjay (7) - - OCT 24, 2017 does not count
Bottle Vero Beach Fl ABC. Poured into a frozen mug, clear and yellow like piss. Aroma is a malty extract from a year old home brew kit. Goes down easy and is an all day drinker. ( replacing Busch as my all day beer) Lonick (2537) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 3, 2017
Bottle @home. Pours pale golden, good white head which goes in seconds. Nose is caramel, toffee sweetness, has it seen a hop? Taste is sweet caramel, nothingness, a waste of good water.

330ml bottle @ Hickory’s Smokehouse, Chester. Dim lighting so no comment on appearance. Grassy aroma with moderately sweet malts. Taste continues, fairly light, but accompanied my ribs well. Carlisle (865) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 25, 2017
