From a bottle in Aspen. Pours clear copper brown with a thick, frothy beige head. Tastes like burnt malt, nutty, musky grains. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like nutty malt, musky grains, toasted toffee. mjmoen (591) - - JUN 9, 2015
Pours a clear dark amber color with tan head. Chocolate aroma and flavor, smooth ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAY 30, 2015
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the Taco Mac in Douglasville, GA
Aroma- Has a pretty good aroma of malt and sweet spice.
Appearance- This is a dark brown beer with a small off-white head.
Taste-the main flavor is malt with some sweet caramel flavoring tossed in.
Palate- this is a light bodied and lightly carbonated beer
Overall- I believe I have had this years ago but I remember it tasting different. I then read other comments saying it was now brewed under contract. That makes sense on why it tastes different. I thought it tasted better in the past, but not a bad beer. miyauchi38 (1117) - chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 6, 2015

Pours a clear, dark amber with reddish highlights and a light tan head of good size that slowly fades. Nose of sweet malt and a little toast. Taste is sweet caramel malt, a hint of black coffee and some light, grassy hops. Not overly complex, more like a lager than a schwarzbier. Not bad. Pleasant and easy to drink. 12oz bottle. No apparent package date.
Appearance: Deep amber, slightly hazy, and an off white foam cap.
Aroma: Getting some sulfur, followed by some bready, toasted malt
Taste: A salty, crystal malt flavor with some toastiness an herbal hop character. Just a hint of roastiness.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation
Finish: Lingering maltiness and some herbal hop character
Overall: If this is supposed to be a schwarzbier/black lager, it’s missing the mark. This is much closer to a Vienna or marzen, but with noticably more crystal malt character. Completely missing that restrained roastiness that is the definition of the style. Not the worst lager I’ve had, but far from the best. rdixon77 (3010) - Georgia, USA - JAN 4, 2015
Pretty boring schwarzbier…more like a lager. Deep amber pour. Malt in the nose. More malt in the taste, along with raisin and some roast. Pretty sweet and grainy. Nothing special. Drank easy. lux_edwards (307) - - DEC 31, 2014
33 cl bottle. . Pours a clearer ruby with a beige head of foam that dissipates at a moderate rate. The aroma is grassy, lemony, and doughy. The taste is a little sweet. I wouldn’t necessarily consider the taste to be pleasant, but it isn’t awful either. Light to medium body. medium carbonation. weark (879) - Morges, SWITZERLAND - DEC 25, 2014
