UPDATED: SEP 7, 2005 Oh Dixie, maker of my favorite lager (Blackened Voodoo), how could you!?!?! This is one of the most watered-down light lagers that Iíve ever imbibed. Shame on you!JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUL 23, 2004

Dirty amber color with a moderate off white head. Dry malt and dirt aromas a kin to a malt house. Lots of caramel flavors with a grassy hops presence. Some hints of prune and light fruit. A somewhat weird combo of flavors. TheDean (786) - MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 5, 2004
Deep down in the Mississippi River, there is a great deal of sediment, which is the crap that comes from New Orleans. This beer would make that sediment look tasty and desirable. fly (1486) - austin, Tejas, Texas, USA - APR 20, 2004
What's this jazz I'm hearing? This isn't the N.O. jazz from days gone by. No Louis or even zydeco. Swamp water it is not either, so I have something for which to be grateful. Really not bad, but not worth the time or words really. When I start thinking that Abita might be a better bet, I know I'm in trouble. punklawyer (100) - USA - FEB 12, 2004
A good but not great light beer. One problem that I have is that it is a bit pricey for its taste.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2005 I did not enjoy this beer. Metallic in taste, unpleasant aftertaste. Smooth texture, but overall not a very good beer. Couldnít finish the first one. Panzuriel (2199) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAR 18, 2003
Decent light beer. Good flavor nice texture good mouthfeel. Light feel but not too light. Good hops flavor, not too light either. Good find if you can locate it. DocKozzak99 (143) - Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 8, 2002
Nice light but tasty brew! Good with seafood & spicy eats! bluemeow76 (693) - Lewis Center, Ohio, USA - JUL 31, 2002
Surprisingly good for a light beer. Good malty flavor and you canít beat the name! (Well, unless you donít like jazz - then you probably couldnít care less about the name) Dogbrick (12936) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2002
This was a much prettier beer than I expected it to be. Copper/amber colored with a medium head that disappeared fast. It also blew the regular Dixie Beer to Hell, man that stuff was horrid. On to the negatives: It was not as good as the Crimson or Blackened Voodoo. While more flavorful and fuller bodied than most light beers, it was still a light beer and you can only squeeze so much out of that. Faint malt flavor and aroma was about all it had going for it.
