Copper, nice off-white cap of foam. Unique aroma I can’t place. Henrik suggests juniper, which seems reasonable. Maybe some kind of herbal tea. Cola sweetness, pepperment. Kind of sweet. While this seems like a beer made with purpose, it’s seems an obscure purpose that is lost on this taster. henrikb (1264) - Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 15, 2007
Draft - Dark red amber body, VERY creamy beige head; Very fruity spicy nose, deep but not really fitting (to a beer); Soft texture and carbonation, slightly sweet and juniper harsh; Juniper aroma in finish mixed with some malty sweetness. Strange and not at all my kind of beer. Svesse (8786) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 4, 2007
(Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 3 Aug 2007) Dark amber colour with frothy beige head. Malty, spicy nose with lots of spices, liquorice and something bittersweet (sweet gale, sloe, juniper?). Malty, spicy taste with dark fruit, liquorice and ... sweet gale? Rather sweet. The spices get a bit overpowering, but i can’t help liking it. Strange but nice. jakoblinaa (13) - Aarhus N., DENMARK - SEP 3, 2007
A special beer. really spicy, lot of herbs. Reminds you almost of Christmas glögg or mulled wine. Somehow bittersweet and sour at the same time. Nice dark amber colour. Miksu (5052) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2007
0.5 l bottle. Reddish amber color. Sweetish aroma with star anise, licorice, cola, vanilla, toffee and some alcohol. Malty and cola-like flavor with heavy taste of anis, licorice and ginger.

Amber color with red hue. Herbal aroma (mint…). Medum body, maybe some malt, honey, but nothing special.
Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen, 2007-03-16, 6-3-6-3-13=31
Dark amber to mahogany color; poor head. Light herbal aroma, similar to heather. Medium malty body, some sweetness, caramel, herbs and traces of liquorice. Quite high ending bitterness. Not bad, balanced, but I don’t see the interest in herbal Ales.
Bottle at home.
Brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma moderate/heavy malt and hoppy, heavy spicy (ginger, cinnamon). Flavor moderate sweet, heavy spicy. Light/medium body. Definitely not a favourite. OleR (4849) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 18, 2007

Nelson, Copenhagen. Thin khaki head over a slight unclear deep amber, soft carbonatied body. Spicy aroma. Notes of plums, rum and medicine. Taste is light sweet malty and spicy. Low hopbitterness. Light to medium body. Short sweetish and spicy finish. Enjoyable, but a bit unbalanced.
Tap, Lord nelson: Amber with off white head.
Malty & very spicy overall. Cinnamon & earbal like. Not my favorite style personally, but good experience! pivo (2688) - GERMANY - JUN 30, 2007
Complex nose with notes of berries and fruit along with a whiff of cracked grains. Lovely deep auburn color and low head. Syrupy sweetness is balanced by a nutty middle and then a dry woody end. Some hops, but subdued and well blended. There is a light whiff of alcohol in the nose after the swallow, though not strong or overpowering. Well done. Thanks for this, Eric!
