Bottle… This beer rocks!… Mostly clear, dirty orange ale with a small, fizzy, khaki head. Decent retention. I absolutely love the aroma of this beer. No one else seems to smell what I smell, so I guess I’m the oddball. I’m really picking up lots of caramel, of course, but also bushels of tannic tree nut shells – mainly pecans and walnuts. Full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and subdued carbonation. The flavor provides gobs of sweet, sugary caramel and toffee and roasted nuts. Sweet, nutty, caramely finish. Thanks to Ibrew2or3 for sharing this world class bottle of beer! sebletitje (10245) - Enghien, BELGIUM - DEC 19, 2009

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2009 Uncompromising. The taste strikes the fine balance between bitter rottenness and drinkability. A proper barley wine with lots of good stuff on the bottom of the bottle. chrisv10 (17937) - DENMARK - OCT 31, 2009

My Bottom Line:Stefano (2021) - Thisted, DENMARK - OCT 25, 2009
This Barley Wine’s fruit jam flavors seem to seep from caramelized cereals while its polished mouthfeel also pushes forth alcohol heat and peppery hops .
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sturdy cap of foam covers the deep regal red.
-The licorice notes are not characteristic to the style, but they work well with the caramel flavors.
-The earthy, wooden hop bitterness lingers nicely.
-The malts also offer light toastiness and smoke.
-The body is not too heavy for the style; it is even elegant.
Draught at Danish Regional Beer Festival, Esbjerg 2009. Black colured with a medium whited head. Aroma is sweet, malty and hoppy. Flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit. Hiddes the alcohol well. sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2009
DØE Valby 09. Pours amber with ahuge beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel, light hop, vineous. Flavour is sweet caramel, alcohol and light hop. jesperhammer (4826) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 15, 2009
Brown/off-white head on amber body.
Sweet charamelly aroma. Sweet cane sugar taste. Not very complex.
More to the malty/english side than the American. Lacks some hops to balance the sweetness.
I am a Djævlebryg fan, but this is not ringing any bells for me.
