Bottle from Gammel strand. Dark ruby red with a stable, little head. Raisins and nutty aroma with some vinous notes. Good dry nutty flavours balancing raisins, some roast. Very bock-like, but still highly likeable, if not extremely complex. yngwie (17053) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 25, 2009
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2009 Bottle. It’s a clear, dark reddish copper beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is heavy on the malty side, and a bit subdued on the hops. Raisins, ripe blue plums, beef-stock, caramel, pine cones and fortified wine. Full-bodied and warming, with a suitable co2 level. The alcohol is quite evident in the mouth as well, giving a rather pleasant burn. Flavors of sweetness, caramel, a tiny roasted note, raisins, some hoppy bitterness and alcohol fills the mouth. The finish is of the lasting kind, warming and sweet, maybe needing just a little more bitterness. A well crafted beer, but I can’t help feeling that my total score on the beer is a bit too high. But I enjoyed it very much. 090825 Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 15, 2009
Bottle: Poured a clear deep copper color ale with an average size off-white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of cookie dough with some light dry fruits. Taste is also dominated by cookie dough with some dry figs and minimal residual sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation and no alcohol was apparent. A bit too much cookie dough in the mix for my taste and lacking some character though still enjoyable. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 8, 2009
Bottle. Aroma of caramel, molasses, dried orange-red fruits. Flavor is sweet with these fruit notes and hints at richer molasses/toffee flavors. Pretty basic. LilBeerDoctor (3930) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 3, 2009
Bottle thanks to my Secret Santa. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of raisin and sweet malt. Flavor of super sweet caramel malt and some raisin. Very sweet. Your typical barleywine here. Meh.

A nice looking red-brown beer with a small tan head. Aroma is roasty malt, with some sweetness and nutiness. The flavor is sweet caramel malts, molasses, and dried fruit. Deliciously syrupy mouthfeel. Decent, but not the best BW i’ve had. elhefeweizen (38) - DENMARK - JUL 11, 2009
A good, not great barleywine, lacking in hops for my taste. Good sweet taste, covering the alcohol Madsnp (933) - DENMARK - JUL 1, 2009
Bottle. Dark brown with a medium sized light brown head. Aromas of caramel, malt, alcohol, nuts and toffee. The flavour is warming and sweet with notes of caramel, syrup and mild hops. A warming sipper.. Rune (12765) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2009
100ml on tap at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 09. Very inviting cognac look, deep dark amber body with patchworks on the surface. Malty sweetness lies at the heart of the aroma. Caramel maltiness in flavour. Full bodied with warming alcohol. Ale cosiness in every sip (16.05.2009).
