Bottle, 33cl. Best Before: judgement day (lol - label says so!).
my first barley wine..
flavor was mostly alcohol, but beneath the strong alc, i got a well compsed well balanced unidentified taste, sort of like cognac or wihskey, but less bitter and more like fruit juice. Interesting brew, my first of its kind, and although i don’t like aged beer, this one is good. sophisticated. GonZoBeeR (3061) - ste-catherine, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 31, 2009

Bottled. Hazy, dark amber beer has thick and creamy head and nice lacing. Fruity and herbal hoppy nose, some raw apple and a touch of alcohol. Winegums and dried apricots. Sweetish, dark caramelly flavor and drier pale malts. Slightly resiny bitter finish with hints of toasted almonds. Slightly vegetal and alcoholic. Smooth, slick texture with alcoholic warmt. Medium bodied. Simple BW. JorisPPattyn (10026) - Ursel, BELGIUM - SEP 17, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2008 Draught Reddish deep-amber beer, shortlived yellow head. Sweet, alcoholic, figs, sultana’s and honey. Terribly sweet nose. Bitterness overlying the near-syrupy taste/feel. Hoppiness is crude, however, nearly metallic. Just too sweet, and IMO nowhere 10.5%. Monkeypower (172) - Odense C, DENMARK - DEC 7, 2008
Cloudy brown/red with finetextured tarred head. Anonymous alcohol saturated aroma and a flavor of wine, alcohol, toffee, caramel and malts.
czar (9172) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 22, 2013
pours unclear light brown reddish with a small light beige head, some retention. caramel-plenty, grass, pepper, cloying brown sugar and molasses, spoiled fruits - tons in fact, caramelized nuts, licorice, woodsy notes, bit of garbage and vomit. moderate carbonation, medium to full body - oily, sticky and cloying, grassy-peppery finish. did not improve with age. not boozy tho. still.. blah. 12 % ABV stated on the bottle.
Ar: sweet, malty, caramel, butterscotch, alcohol, vanilla, earthy hops, grass, jam, honey, dried dark fruit
Ap: slightly hazy copper/ruby colour, weak bubbly beige head.
T: heavy sweetness, very low bitterness, ABV well integrated, slightly vinous, but that’s about it no real complexity to the taste, sort of one-dimensional.
P: full bodied, low carbonation, warming finish.

Bottle, september 20th 2015. Dark brown body with a small offwhite head. Aroma of alcohol, caramel, red fruits. Taste of toffee, tangerine, perfume and oak. Booxy finish with a warm cara finish. Too alcohol driven taste for me. OminouSC2 (739) - Mora, SWEDEN - JUL 5, 2016
Aroma is malted barley, caramel and some alcohol. The taste is not that good. Too sweet, a lot of alcohol and some odd spicy bitterness to it. During the finish you can taste the alcohol too much. Not great. stobbe74 (3789) - DENMARK - SEP 2, 2009
Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Valby. Pours an amber beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is sweet with slight notes of sourness. The flavor is sweetness and fruit. The palate is sweet. Overall the beer needs some balance.
