COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

English: An accumbent experience; that is one way of describing the adventure ’Nekron’. A discrete smoky character from both peat and beech smoked malt defines the bottom layer. In the middle, a light caramel sweetness and the vinous alchohol take over. The roasted malts and barley add notes of coffee, chocolate, and roasted rye bread. The moderate hop bitterness mixes willingly with the whole. Nekron can easily stand alone but enjoys the company of heavier dishes or chocolate rich desserts.

Bottle from Maria, thanks! Almost pitch black and opague. Roastaroma with just a bit of smoke and caramel. Roasty, smoky, caramelly flavor with licorice and coffee. Almost full bodied, although the mouthfeel is also a bit watery. Ash in the aftertaste. Loads of flavor, certainly a beer of good quality, but just not my favorite stout.

Rune (13508) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2009
Dark as satan. Naked surface. Smooth, inviting aroma of liquorice-accented malts. The liquorice in the flavour is supported by sweet chocolate and roasted coffee which keeps on going with a more bitter touch towards the ending. Full bodied, but still soft on the swallow. Dansk superøl (100ml on tap at CBF 09, and 220ml on tap at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen 18.05.2009).

Bottle. Pours almost pitch black with an orange hue towards the head. Head is creamy and beige - stays for quite some time, and still ends up as a thin film. Aroma has loads of roasted malts, balanced with coffee and a hoppy edge. Flavour is nice and round, quite vinious with a definite roasted tone. Finishes with some dark chocolate. It is very nice and well rounded - closer to an Imperial Stout than a regular Stout.

Sammy (12760) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2008
Musty aroma and mouldy taste. Received recently in a Denmark trade. Expired, but merely 12 days ago. Pours dark, very coffeeish. Sourness in it and roast. Nothing like it but not greatly drinkable.

Pinball (12328) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 6, 2008
aroma :i get too much alc. and aged beer for my taste. App: black. Blocks out the sun 100% when i try to look through my glass. nice thick light-brown head, taste : nuts, roasted stuff, coffee , good aftertaste, sweet notes, too much alc. burn , sort of feels like chilli. Taste improved as it got warmer, still the alc. burn though. Overall a stout with no major problems, but still not worthy of being called a damn good beer.

On tap at Copenhagen beer festival. Poured black with a brown head. A full aroma full of coffee, Licorice and chocolate notes. Flavor is very dark and full of all the notes in the aroma but ends with a bit of fruitiness. I really enjoyed it.
