COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours a deep, opaque, midnight-black, with a dense milk chocolate colored head. Brewed with a large percentage of roasted and chocolate malts, this huge beer is then aged on oak chips for added depth and complexity. Flavors are reminiscent of dark fruits, chocolate and sandalwood, making Prince Myshkin’s Stout perfect for dessert, or a dangerously smooth nightcap. Just in time to keep you warm on a cold winter night!

Pours dark black with some foam. Aroma of malts and raisins. Heavy, malty taste but very smooth for 9% abv. I enjoyed this. Tap.

Fig and raisin on the nose. Dark pour with about a half inch of head off tap. Malt, fruit, and oak taste with a slight hop finish.

Um, yum! Everything that I love about imperial stouts- bitterness, coffee and chocolate. Good.

On tap at Capone’s. Pours a black color with a nice thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, and roast. Thick, sweet, roasty, chocolaty taste. My lord. Roasty and complex. Creamy. Perfect clean finish. This is a good beer.

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - AUG 22, 2013
On tap at brewery. Pours a rich black color with dark ruby highlights, a thin tan head that lasts and falls to a thin ring with spotty lacing. Aroma is mild chocolate, dark red wine, oak wood, and cherries. Taste of dark roasted malt with figs, prunes and light sour cherries. A sharp bite from spicy, peppery hops in the finish. Tart twang in the aftertaste. Full body, sticky and chewy, smooth, with good creaminess, low carbonation.

Very tasty Russian imperial stout. Muted aromas but rich chocolate and coffee flavors.

Pours pitch black with a creamy medium mocha head...looks thick. Aroma has notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and mild dark fruits. Flavor follows suit and adds a nice roasty/burnt note that is slightly bitter but not overkill. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish has a nice roasty dark chocolate/dark fruit finish that drys and lingers.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Was not expecting this to be as awesome as it is. Pitch black body, tight nocha foam, spotty lacing. Rich chocolate, assertive roast, nice oaky quality comes out in the flavor profile. Modest booze shines. A touch of dark fruits and brown sugar. Full bodied, silky smooth carbonation, light bitterness in the finish, balanced alcohol. Very nice.

On draft at Capone’s in Philadelphia. The beer is nearly opaque and appears a deep, dark brown color with a thin beige head. The aroma brings heavy roast and dark chocolate. The flavor is rich and robust. The beer is full bodied and quite viscous. Carbonation is moderately low, and the beer is silky and smooth on the palate. The aftertaste brings a lot of barrel flavors. Overall, a tasty stout. Recommended. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 04-23-2011
