Dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of cereal, grain, toffee, earth, malt, alcohol and a bit of light fruits. Medium-bodied; Strong toffee and caramel flavours with a bit of grain, some light alcohol notes, but a bit of rye and specialty grains along with some lighter funk from the yeast and residual yeast. Aftertaste shows the grain, alcohol, toffee, earth and especially nutty flavours with no real offsetting flavours - pungent and strong. Overall, a pretty poor beer that doesn’t show much hops, no real complexities, just bitterness and a bit of deep malty notes - more of a scotch ale than anything else. Sampled on draft this beer poured a toffee color with a large creamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet pine and a bit of spicy rye. 12 ounce bottle. Copper color topped by a massive foamy beige head. Big toasted malt nose has obvious notes of rye and spicy hops. Bittersweet toasted malt upfront. Deep copper color with a of white head, no retention, no lacing. Citrus and floral hops on the nose. Semi dry & smooth beer with a medium body. Flavor is balanced and not overly aggressive. 12oz bottle. Poured a deep clear mahogany body with a smaller to average sized foamy beoge head. Aroma is rye spice, citrus, spicy flower stems, dough and a hint of menthol. Flavor is a slight step down but solid none the less, notes of rye bread dough, old citrus, earthy dry hop cones, floral. Body is medium but sort of flat in the middle and finishes with tight bubbly carbonation.
