Pours lightly hazy red-amber with a 2-finger bone-colored head. Citrus hops aroma with some caramel malt. Grassy note from the rye. Body is medium with some oil to it. Citrus hops flavor, some pine too. A peppery, grassy note is added by the rye, and a touch of nutty malt lies underneath. ttutony (968) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2018
Amber with an off white head. Potent pine and resin hops. Pleasant but not overwhelming sweetness. Nice balance. Finish has crisp bitterness that fades into caramel malt and earthy hops. Nice beer. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 8, 2018
5/7/2016 -- from notes: Sample on tap at Whiskey Village during CBC. Crisp, nice mild spicy rye, piney spicy hop. More dry. Toasty. Very solid. Seems like a bigger amount of rye here. TylerGreenDC (1172) - - OCT 14, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2016 Draft. Thickest head I?ve ever seen on a pale ale. Flavors are robust, wintry, meaty. Tons of malt chewiness with rye spice. Finding the hops here is tough. Leaden. jgb9348 (6724) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - OCT 10, 2016
Dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of cereal, grain, toffee, earth, malt, alcohol and a bit of light fruits. Medium-bodied; Strong toffee and caramel flavours with a bit of grain, some light alcohol notes, but a bit of rye and specialty grains along with some lighter funk from the yeast and residual yeast. Aftertaste shows the grain, alcohol, toffee, earth and especially nutty flavours with no real offsetting flavours - pungent and strong. Overall, a pretty poor beer that doesn’t show much hops, no real complexities, just bitterness and a bit of deep malty notes - more of a scotch ale than anything else. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-December-2015 for US$1,61 sampled at home in Washington on 09-October-2016.

on tap at the brewpub in West Phila - slightly sweet aroma. Nice amber color. Slight maltiness. FROTHINGSLOSH (8449) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2016
Sampled on draft this beer poured a toffee color with a large creamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet pine and a bit of spicy rye. The flavor was tangy and sweet pine with undertones of pepper and rye. long finish. Moderately full bodied. Decent. phillybass (117) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2016
This is the best beer from dock street. A solid IPA with a tangy rye flavor.

12 ounce bottle. Copper color topped by a massive foamy beige head. Big toasted malt nose has obvious notes of rye and spicy hops. Bittersweet toasted malt upfront. Resiny hops and rye malt are there as well. Big hop prescence. Well crafted and a must for hop lovers. A very good East Coast IPA.
