Pours black with a deep red tinge in the transparency. Moderate sized dense tan head. Charred wood aromas, peat and some vanilla sweetness. Taste has bitter toffee and cocoa, oak and a little treacle and vanilla sweetness. Has some complexity that I can’t quite put my finger on, that i’m guessing comes from the barrel. Excellent mouthfeel and full bodied for the style. Love it mkel07 (6206) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 10, 2014

Great black colour. No head. Classic ipa smells and flavours tempered by a delicious chocolate malt mid palate. Slight smoke flavours moving back into a ipa dominated bitterness. On tap at union hotel, st peters.
