COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

On-tap. A - Blazing burnt orange color with a decent sized, smooth, creamy white head. Pretty good retention but almost no lace. Surprising given the ABV. S - Sweet citrus and stone fruit. Caramel malt and some booziness. Pine hop aroma is also in there. Pretty fruity overall. T - Like the aroma, there is a good amount of citrus, tropical and stone fruit. Mango, apricot, peach, grapefruit and orange all in there. A touch of booze on the finish but not much given the ABV. Caramel malt is also fairly strong. Much more sweet than bitter, but bitterness does come out. M - Medium starting toward full body. Nice carbonation and has a smooth and slightly viscous feel. D - Even with the ABV it isnít too boozy. It is a little on the sweet side though. That said, given what this beer is, it is very drinkable. Notes: On tap at Beer Revolution. Not sure the year. It was surprisingly not to boozy and pretty easy to drink. Having had 90 Minute, I knew this would be sweet and it definitely was. Nice beer with plenty of sweet hopiness, but there is a touch of bitterness. Good, but I donít know if Iíd pay the price for a bottle.

Hazy dark orange with thin off white head. Orange, malt aroma. Sweet, boozy bittersweet flavors. Big, thick, juicy body. Long malty, bitter finish. Heaven on steroids.

Had to rate because of all the FB ranting about it and in bev. Sam wants it pulled. Donít know if I blame him or not but thought Iíd get a rating in. Dark copper penny color and incredible hop aroma. Thick and kind of sweet it only downside, alcohol well hidden. Really good and really expensive.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2017 Bottle into snifter. Pours a deep amber with a white head. Notes of floral hops and booze on the nose. Same on the palate with a bit of caramel. Nice slight booze burn on the finish. Great brew but not worth the price tag.

Golden in appearance with a white head. Strong alcohol flavors but only slightly hot.

Drank at home from a bottle. Just a rock solid IPA with a malty backbone. Nice fruity aroma.

Bottle: just because you can do something doesnít mean itís right. Deep copper color, good head and lace. The aromas are dominated by a slow or stuck ferment. The palate is sweet and hot. Itís probably has a high VA. Folks talk about hops, I donít know how you see them with all the malt, alcohol and slow ferment profile. Intense flavor but no balance. A very poor beer.

Smells surprisingly malty and dank with some spicy hops and booze. Great burnt orange color with a tiny cap of cream colored foam. Tastes sweet up front, then slight pine hops with a boozy aftertaste that lasts a long time. Smooth palate, the only noticeable carbonation is at the end. This was good. Not worth the hefty price tag, not one of the best DIPAs I have ever had, but good.
