3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep, rich auburn...almost burnt siena. It smells of cannabis and earth...very sharp. This beverage tastes very flowery...like eating a flower bed, also very sweet...almost brown sugar. After the head disapates, leaves a silky swirl that paints the top. Swirling the glass leaves a thin film that slowly falls back into the glass. Although, this is a bit overwhelming for my tastes, it was good. I could only drink half a bottle however.
Pours a mostly clear ark amber body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is very resiny and piney with a heavy caramel maltiness and a little alcohol. The flavor is very boozy and a lot more bitter than I was expecting. I remember this being much sweeter the last time that I had this. An intense resiny and piney hoppiness up front, fading to a very hot and boozy alcoholic finish. There’s plenty of caramel malt in here as well, but the boozy alcohol keeps it from being overly sweet. Full bodied, chewy, and clingy with fizzy carbonation. I didn’t remember especially liking this beer before, but I feel like I liked more than this. Maybe this really does need some extended aging. This bottle is somewhere in the neighborhood of a year old. Wouldn’t give this another go at this age, though I’m unlikely to buy more of this in the first place.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Very strong alcohol aroma overpowers the hints of citrus hops. This beer pours a cloudy amber with a minimal head. It's a sweet taste, there's dark fruit and some citrus. Thick, creamy texture with a full body. I was expecting more TomTron (462) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 25, 2017

Pours a nice amber color with a very sweet hoppy citrus smell. Minimal head. The taste is hoppy upfront but sweet almost like pineapple, the finish is crisp with a slight lingering hop note. Overall a very good IPA that I’d get again

This one weighed in at 18.5-21% alcohol. Tasted like it, and that's why I love it. Sampled at Reefpoint Brew House, Racine, Wis..

Thick murky amber pour with a thin head that disappeared quickly. Smells delicious, with aromas of hops and fresh dough. Tastes surprisingly sweet with white grapes and orange liquor; a little hoppy, grapefruit bitterness to balance it out. Nice alcohol burn as it goes down but not what you would expect from such a high ABV. Almost like a 90 minute with extra kick. Viscous mouthfeel; probably the thickest beer I've tasted with little carbonation. Really good beer and more docile than I expected. Still only drinking one though. I'd put it there with Samichlaus as one of the more unique beers I have tasted. chucklemation (1796) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - DEC 2, 2017
Pours a hazy copper with a white foam head. Aroma is very boozy, with citrus, floral, and earth hops coming through, as well as caramel malts. Flavor is boozy, sweet caramel, and citrus hops. Has a smooth, full body, syrupy. Quite good - a hybrid barleywine/double IPA. brandon1989 (712) - Lewisville, Texas, USA - NOV 11, 2017
Pours a hazy golden orange color with a medium off white head that left some nice lacing rings around the glass. The aroma is more sweet than hoppy. The most dominant aroma is alchohol with some faint pine and citrus notes. There is quite a bit of warming as you drink this beer, the alcohol is very noticeable. The flavor is very sweet again more so than hoppy. The alcohol is also very dominant in the flavor as well. SDalkoholic (2444) - Linda Vista, California, USA - NOV 10, 2017
Bottle from Sprout's: Poured a dense raw golden honey hue that was murky while the head was a foamy layer that quickly bubbled down. Aroma is strong in malt and reminds me how a barleywine smells. Earthy hops are picked up as well and some minor scents of fruit such as dried peach or apricot chips finish my nose off. The drink is strong and delivers a high level of alcohol immediately. Flavor is sweet and bitter yet has tastes of apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and a drop of soy sauce or fish sauce finishes it up. Had this before, but was so wasted I couldn't even write about. So glad they put bottles out again in my humble corner of the U.S. Anova167 (391) - Manhattan Beach, California, USA - NOV 3, 2017
Clear pale copper color served in a wine glass on draft. Aroma is hot alcohol and resiny hops. Overwhelmed by the alcohol. Thick mouthfeel and a barley wine esque maltiness. Sweeter finish with sticky cloying mouthfeel. I don’t really like this if evaluated as an IPA. Even as a barley wine, it is not well balanced and very caramelly
