UPDATED: JUL 14, 2005 This beer is hoppy but it is lacking in depth. Theres a bit of a dirty, tingy malt taste, and a lot of the bitter hops throughout. Overall this is certainly a quality brew, but it doesnt stand out particularly in any way. The head was huge and the color was golden.

A solid IPA from Dogfish Head. The 90 Minute was much better. The appearance was a bit lacking, not much head and basically a pilsner yellow/golden color going on. Had this in a 12 oz. bottle as part of Dogfish Heads Boom Box (their variety case of beer). Hop and pine aroma, a bitter bite and not much sweetness.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2006 Original rating 6/13/2005 (7/4/5/3/15=3.4) 12oz - There is something about the aroma that doesnt make me think ipa. Maybe vanilla and almond with not much hop. Cloudy orange with a small head that leaves fast with lingering lacing. Flavor does not taste like an ipa to me. Very malty with vanilla, carmel, almond, and just a touch of hops. The palate is a bit stale. The date of the bottle is not checked so maybe this one is old... I can honestly say that I dont care too much for this brew.

Had a fresh 60min draft last week and can say for sure that the bottle I had was stale and old. The draft was fresh, crisp, and hoppy. I will hunt down a fresh one and rerate. I think the same thing happened with 90 minute too.

12oz - Bottled on 3/6/06 - Aroma is subtle floral hops with a nice malty follow through. Pours transparent gold with medium head and great lacing. Flavor is the malt first then the hops finish up with a nice bitter blast. Palate is creamy and tart. Tasty non-aggressive IPA.

ON tap @ the Flying Saucer Fort Worth, TX. This beer smells like a seasonal winter brew. The aroma was strong with pine, fruit, spice, and hops. The color was nice and pale with great clarity. I was expecting a huge hop bite, but there really wasnt. I thought the hop count was right on. It was pretty dry. Not very refreshing. It wouldnt be something that I could have more than 2 of. I would drink it again though.

The aroma starts as soon as you pour this beer and is a marvelous hop and pine scent. Nice thick head and lace. The taste is a smooth transition from slight malt to very hop citrus ending with a nice bitterness that is not overdone. Long dry bitter finish that begs for another taste. One of my favorate IPAs especially in the summer.

Sampled at le Mondial de la bire 2005. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma of floral, citrusy and piney hops. Strong flavor of citrusy and piney hops with a decent malt base. Light to medium body, the mouthfeel is very dry.

Golden-amber color, medium-bodied beer with a sweety hoppy aroma. I had it bottled this time, and I felt that it was a bit more carbonated than from the tap at the brewery in Delaware (where I try to make a pilgrimage twice a year). Still, a very fine beer from an excellent brewery.

Sample at the Mondiale 2005: Poured a clear amber color ale with a medium head with limited retention. Aroma of sweet and floral hops is quite enjoyable. Taste is sweeter then expected at first with the expected bitterness hitting more towards the end. Well balance IPA.
