Rating #3,500 for this beer (cool!).

This has been around for so long and is so iconic, I dont really know how to rate it. Its a great example of how much my threshold for lupulin has shifted over the last decade. What I remember as being intensely, pleasantly bitter in 2007 now tastes restrained. My notes said "reminds me of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale." Thats a compliment -- Sierra Nevada is a mighty fine brew -- but it also doesnt have nearly the hop level that Im used to these days. Excellent, but surprisingly ... tamed.

Pour: Amber, orange hue. Head is two-finger and off-white. Nose: Citrus, orange or clementine, slightly piney hops, creamy fruit like a mango. Taste: Creamy malt, slight hops, bitter/tart citrus bite. Resinous. Dry grass, hay. Mouth-Feel: Light to medium body, small soft carbonation. Overall: Good for the backyard barbecues and cook outs of the summer. Malt notes make it a good pairing with any food with a kick to it, pine and grass would compliment grilled veggies, Turkey pesto panino, or bruschetta. My favorite pairing with this beer is a Spicy Bacon Guacamole Burger.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2017 Bottle. Golden color. Aroma of pale malt, mild herbal pine and bitters. Taste has herbal pine, bitter grassy hop, malt and some subtle citrus. This might have been good in the age before the hop trend, but now it?s like a more bitter pilsner.

Aroma: Faint aroma of grass, herbs. Appearance: Amber, clear with a white head. Taste: Hops, pine, dry bitter malty finish. Palate: High carbonation overpowering. Overall: Too much pine and carbonation for me. Draft at Fergies, Philadelphia.

Ben carbonata, corpo medio, medio-pieno, beverina e piacevole.

Bottle. Teku. Golden, clear with moderate, white, frothy head. Poor head retention and good lacing. Moderate malty profile - grainy, biscuity, not really fresh I think. Hoppy profile is earthy, ashy. Taste is moderately bitter and moderately sweet. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. This is not the IPA that I like.

330 ml bottle ffrom Beergium, bottled 09/20/16.
Amber, clear body, with a medium, fluffy, moderately lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of grass, herbs, some onion, citrus, some pine, subtle fruits.
Tastes of grapefruit, caramel, honey, stone fruits, some tropical fruits, some grass, some pine.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, a bit sweet, zesty, piney, a bit fruity, with some honey.

Very nice. The nose is quite strange, maybe theres something wrong with my bottle. The taste isnt spoiled though, really lovely, with lots of fruits, but also a broad malt body. Hopefully I get to rate another (fresher) bottle, while this is still really quaffable.

From a 355ml bottle on 9/2/2017. Pours an opaque medium golden with a small head. The nose features muted fruity hops. Features a light caramel malt backbone, some light sweet citrus fruit, a touch of honey, and a moderate, slightly herbal, lingering hop bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Okay but pretty subdued and uninspiring for the style.
