Bottle shared at the November 2012 Santa Cruz tasting. Vanilla malt with astringent hops and a piney character throughout. Very much like the 90 minute. rxeight (3159) - Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2012
hops on the nose and taste. A bit of oak and carmel. I didnt taste the maple syrup that they claim is burried in there. But it does have an underlying sweetness. To me it tastes like a blend of every other dogfish IPA - 60,90, burton and squall. bubbleflubber (2231) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - NOV 30, 2012
Pours a hazy apricot into the glass, with a huge 4-finger creamy eggshell head that leaves thick ring lacing. The nose is of pine, dank basement and light sourdough. Citrus, biscuit flour, pine hops and grapefruit, complete with zest and peel, combine very nicely on the tongue. The finish is of light, dry peppering pine needles. Highly drinkable, the body is medium with a semi-active palate. This feels zesty yet complex. A very nice concept here. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - NOV 30, 2012
Bomber from Live Oak. Gold pour with a big white head. Aroma is big citrus, caramel, and sap. Taste is oranges, light toast, pine, and a little maple in the finish.

Pours a clear amber with a 3-fingered white head. Smells of citrus, bread, a little spruce. Taste is sweet and bitter, moderate hops with a malty finish, slight hint of maple.

Poured from a bottle. Beautiful golden color. Aroma of hops and floral. Taste is very smooth. This is a good beer. Drinks like a double IPA. Isn't malty and thick, but full. Smooth aftertaste. This is my favorite Dogfish IPA.

Golden color with very good clarity, lots of creamy foam, ok lacing. Rather light hop aroma, slightly flowery and herbal, grass, a bit of caramely malt. Flavor is a mix of grapefruit bitter, tobacco, spice, grass, a buttery note from the maple i suppose? Good, but there is an indefinable aspect that i don’t personally find appealing. It may be that it all comes together to leave a slightly astringent after taste. Chuckaduck (674) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - NOV 29, 2012
Pours a green-orange with a thick, fluffy off-white head. Aroma is pine, caramel, some sugar/maple, grass, citrus, bread, floral. Taste is citrus, pine, caramel, nice hop bitterness, spicy, finishes with a very smooth sweetness (form the maple barrel?) and a subtle bitter bite at the very end. Similar to it’s component beers, but with that nice smooth and sweet-bitter finish. Nice lacing; thick. Chew mouth feel. Lots of carbonation. I like this, absolutely but it didn’t knock my socks off. blackflag321 (691) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2012
Shared bottle poured to snifters. Very, very, VERY nice. The beer drinks like a big ABV DIPA . . . by that I mean big flavor, not the booziness. The maple syrup doesn’t make it syrup; it adds a nice aftertaste. This is definitely on my "buy when available" list. Zombeer (59) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Really good IPA. But what did you expect? This is Dogfish doing what it does best. Near perfect for this type of beer, so grab a bottle if you can find one.
