Had the version bottle conditioned with maple syrup. Strong, very hoppy aroma definitely has a hint of maple as well as a citrus fruity touch. Pours a nice clear amber with a fairly thick pale wheat head. Hoppy, lively flavor is more fruity than bitter and has a subtle maple syrup note but is not too sweet. Smooth texture has good body and fizz. Love the label on this version! Another winner from Dogfish Head. nikeballs7 (9) - boone, North Carolina, USA - NOV 9, 2012 does not count
Think head that lasted the whole beer. Smells like maple syrup. Hops stay on you tongue for a long time. Delicious! Try this beer.

A sweeter and nuttier IPA. I don’t what the back-story is behind this that they chose maple syrup. The aftertaste is very nice. The mouthfeel is a bit too fizzy for me; it’s a shame that I had this from the bottle because I know for a fact that if I was at the brewery and had it on cask, it’d be a lot smoother and nicer. This is good, but what’s right for me is their 90 :o) deekyn (1459) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 7, 2012
A-unfiltered golden yellow with beautiful thick white frothy head. Solid lacing. M-full but light. Faintly watery. S-citrus hops, pine and soap make up the front, with lemon zest and light malts on the finish. T-grapefruit pine and soap, with lemon juice to follow. Carmel malts make up the spine. Bitter finish of citrus and flat malt.

Hazy amber brew with a slightly off-white head. Aromas of spruce, and molasses are present. Tastes of some fresh grass, pine hops, some herbal notes, and caramel. The flavor of maple syrup really comes out in the malty finish, and that sweetness balances the hops out almost perfectly. Lingering sweetness remains on the tongue after every sip. This stuff is great, would gladly try again. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 6, 2012
cask at brewpub hazy orange-amber, lasting white head laces glass. Nose is woody, lemon and light cleaning product. Flavor is fruity, heavy lemon citrus and earth with the more undesirable orange candy pushed off until the very end. Cask body accents wonderfully light lemon notes. Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a cloudy amber/orange body with a massive inch long off-white head. The nose is fruity and resinous with citrus and piney hops. The flavor is explosive with hops; big notes of pine tree, perfume, citrus, underlying hints of biscuit and malt. Lively carbonation and full body. The hops continue to pop in the mouth long after a sip is enjoyed. Nice work as usual from DFH!

From the 11/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a golden color with a huge foamy/creamy white head that lingered forever and left decent lacing. The aroma was semi sweet pine, grapefruit and a touch of bread. The flavor was dryish and bitter pine and grapefruit with hints of bread, pepper and maple. Medium length pine and grapefruits finish. Medium length finish. Ok but I had hoped for much better. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bottle from City Beer. Pours amber with a thick white head and a citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a carbonated finish and just the right amount of bitterness.
