The highly rated 90-Minute Imperial IPA delivered what was it promised as being a very rich and high quality beer. Like all beers it is all in the eye of the beholder with their individual tastes. Myself personally, I am not the biggest fan of IPA’s, but Dogfish Head still produced a very nice high quality beer. I would have to say like all Dogfish Head beers that the aroma was fantastic. A characteristic that really starts off the party and is often overlooked. It had a very nice heavy dry hop aroma and a white mostly lasting head. The beer had a beautiful cloudy appearance to it and surprised me with an initial sweet flavor in the beginning. The middle yielded a fruity touch with the common bitter finish with IPA’s that was quite delightful. A full body on the palate with a soft carbonated oily texture with a long lasting bitter finishes. I am always impressed with what Dogfish Head produces, and love their TV show on Discovery. Whatever it is that they come up with next, I will be they’re waiting in line.
Bottle from Finger Lakes Beverage Center. Aroma of citrus and resin hops, balanced with caramel malt. foobeered (1) - - JUN 24, 2017 does not count
A bit malty but great hop taste bitter is high manageable enough to enjoy. On the balance I rather have less malty ness.

Bottle at home. Clear amber orange, cream head. Cream, pineapple, apricot butterscotch, hint of balsamic. Greatly balanced sweetness, creamy, biscuit, tropical fruits and balsamic hoppiness, bitter finish. wmennis (5) - - JUN 17, 2017 does not count

Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute I.I.PA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate.

From tap at Jacks Bar in The Cannery, San Francisco. Aroma is resiny with caramel malt, big hops, ripe-ish fruits, maple syrup, pine, orange jam. Flavour is bold medium sweet and bitter. Body is pretty full, especially for the style. Quite a big bittersweet resinous IIPA, not one to chug down. Good! PabloZab (1520) - Wroclaw, POLAND - JUN 13, 2017
Bottle 330ml (bottled 28.07.2016). Piwo delikatnie zmętnione o bursztynowej barwie z obfitą, biało-żółtawą pianą i przede wszystkim trwałą. Aromat słodki, wyraźnie słodowy, taki cukierkowy, nieco karmelowy z nutami owoców tropikalnych, żywicy, przyjemny choć wyraźnie słodowy a mniej chmielowy. Ogólnie przyzwoite piwo. kmptrgeek (2) - - JUN 9, 2017 does not count
This is the best IPA that I have tasted to date. Strong fast and pleasant, sweet bouquet.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2017 Bottled on: 2017-05-09, Price: $9.99 / 4 pack, 12 oz. brown glass bottle.
Pours an orange-amber with short, off-white head. Bought solely based on the 100/99 rating; I wasn’t impressed.
Not the expected profile for an Imperial IPA. More malty than hoppy. Felt like Dogfish Head was trying to trick me; a double more sweet than it was bitter. 9% with very little alcohol presence. A two-dimensional profile with little more to offer than sappy, caramel sweet and short-lasting bitterness.
The hoppiness is clearly there, after about 18 oz. a numbness starts to set in, but it is masked by a maltiness that was not desired upon purchasing a higher-end Imperial IPA. jbethea (46) - Summerfield, Florida, USA - JUN 4, 2017
As soon as it hits your tongue there’s a beautiful hop sting. Layers of hop and resin dominate alongside malty caramel. Aggressively hopped yet elegantly balanced without being sweet. damn fine beer
