Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute I.I.PA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. This beer is an excellent candidate for use with Randall The Enamel Animal! 90 ibu

Bottle - Sweet malts, balanced with earthy piney hops. Nice bitterness with the mellow piney flavours. Some orange in the finish. A bit of alcohol and a rich oily mouthfeel. A great balanced IPA.

12 oz. bottle; in my possession over 3 years. Rich aroma of ripe light stone fruit. Hazy ripe apricot color with a creamy beige head that flattened, laced, and did interesting things. Medium bodied, with crisp carbonation. The flavor starts with pale raisin, citrus, and something floral. The malt approaches caramel, but it is quite balanced by the hop - bitter and floral. It really pleases the mouth, and the finish is primarily dry, a little fruit lingers, and surprisingly unbitter. Well, it’s bitter, but it is so nicely set off with fruit aspects, like apricot all of a sudden. This is one of those ales that just demands full attention for savoring. This one makes bitter non-bitter, but bitter. Try it.

Scopey (15427) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2010
On tap at White Horse, London SW6. Colour; orange, decent carbonation with foamy hay-cloured head. Nose; aggressive hops, citrus, fresh pine. Taste; citrus hops, floral, dried fruits, tangy, wood, more hops . Brilliant long bitter finish. Very, very enjoyable, its a bit like getting punched in the face by a big bag of hops.

Bottle. Pours a slightly darker amber than the 60 minute with a small white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is VERY hoppy, bites you right on the nose. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is sweet of grapefruit and a hoppy finish but hides the alcohol well. An impressive double IPA from dogfish.

Bottled, 355ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Hazed amber with short lived head. Not as overblown with hops as I was lead to expect, which was a good thing, slighlty sweet and fruity initially, grapefruit and bitter lemon over quite a plummy note, loads of alcohol showing through, nasal, breathy. Crisps up later on for a drying note. Obviously very good but not quite there with the greatest for me.
