3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2006 This has to be the most extreme IPA I have ever tasted, which was to be expected. But my overall expectations were way off. There was very little head, and what did exsist lasted only a few seconds then ran for the sides of my glass and hide there the rest of the session. A deep, hazy amber. The nose was strong of hops and hops alone. The taste is brutally hopped, but right when you are about to curse the heavy hand of the hop tosser... the malts come around and save the day. You are still left with the pine-citrus linger, which is plesent, but not extra-ordinary. I suspect much time went into balancing such a big beer. I like IPA’s this one was just a little over the top for me.

Well apparently more carbonated this time. Aroma is good but really just like smelling a hop bag. This is thick and surupy?... Thick. Oh, and strong by the way. Two glasses and a fine buzz, check!, Yes Sir! Good and pure. Would I change my previous rating? No... & thats saying something since this was one of my first IIPA... SOLID.
UPDATED: APR 16, 2018 0,4l on tap @ Gott's Roadside. Pours clear amber with a medium creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts with some fruits. Flavor is sweet malts, fruits, alcohol, hops. Excellent. Westy1130 (134) - New York, USA - APR 15, 2018
Golden copper with creamy/frothy head. Malty sweet aroma, with pine and citrus notes. Floral, herbal, piny and citrus taste, but predominantly sweet malts with a bready, biscuity texture. Not necessarily a beer that hardcore hopheads would praise; however it is extremely well balanced and refreshingly smooth. Cajun (560) - Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - MAR 28, 2018
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2018 Bottle - Pours a filtered amber, foamy head. Toasted bread/fermented bread, fruit medley, grapes, dank, citrus, floral, deliciously palatable, banana, yeasty, sourdough. Really good. tompete (380) - Tillsonburg, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 24, 2018
Pours crystal clear brownish gold with a very long lasting off white head. Aroma is light and grainy. Flavour is also light but nicely bitter and very warm. Finish is slightly bitter. andrewje41 (4861) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - MAR 19, 2018
12 oz bottle at the Cozy. Can't believe I haven't rated this yet, but honestly, it's been years since I remember having this last. Unusually sweet malt aroma. Almost banana like. Flavor is a sweet malt as well. Insanely rich. Caramel malts, little hop profile to go off of. Or at least it's buried from the malt profile. Harsh IPA overall, and I feel like it always has been. Surprised this is so highly rated. Added to a retry list.

Nose is mainly pale malt, some honey-resiny notes and a touch of ripe banana. Slick, oily mouth feel. Medium sweetness, nice hop flavors and a backbone of bitterness. Long hoppy finish, some saltiness. A terrific Imperial. markas101 (2580) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JAN 15, 2018

Not the hop bomb I expected. Very good however- huge malt that provides balance. Even at 9% it doesn’t overwhelm. Very very good airspi (12) - GREECE - JAN 4, 2018
