Awful unless you are into minty cough syrup. We chose this in a flight. The waiter wouldn’t bring in the flight until we tasted a sample!! Not sure where this one would be classified.

Draft from Coalhouse Pizza, Stamford, CT. Pours a beautiful thick black body with a dark brown head that laces throughout the pint. This stout has a strong mint flavor that provides notes of black licorice and cherry. Overall, the flavor provides a strong menthol taste that masks the natural flavors of a stout. I am not a fan of this one. Arayaga2 (2197) - portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 21, 2011
Deep beautiful color, but it all falls apart when you put your nose to the glass. Mint-cherry cough syrup with high residual sweetness and prominent booziness. Almost a drain-pour. pushkinwow (2789) - Ottawa, CANADA - NOV 30, 2011
Tap @ Capones. Ruby dark brown with biege head. Mint and alcohol, candy cane and cough syrup. Medium body and average carbonation, sweet, anise, smooth, alcohol. Odd. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 29, 2011
Draft at Capones in Norristown, PA.
Pours a deep dark brown that’s pretty much black and completely opaque with mahogany edges and a half finger light beige head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Minimal spots of lace left behind.
Sweet, spicy aroma with a decent balance of sweet and roasted malt, floral hops and a strong herbal presence. Subtle licorice along with some chocolate, pepper and pine needle. Very strange.
Medium bodied but on the thinner end with a balance of earthy, herbal spice, sweet malt and vinous fruit. Lots of pepper and strong mint countered by sweet chocolate, boozy sweetness and dak fruit especially cherry, plum and grape. Really odd combination of flavors. I didn’t like this beer butni really didn’t dislike it either. The flavor profile was so strange that I kept going back for more. Before I knew it the glass was empty.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2011 Draft at capones with Dallas and tony. Pours a deep black body with light lacing. Aroma is mint. Mouthfeel is nice but with crazy mint notes. I would’ve liked to try a more tame version of this. Just too much like toothpaste.

Had at capons event with james, Dallas And andrew. Pour is dark brown. Little head. Aroma is light mints and chocolate. Flavor is a nicely balanced chocolate and mint like a nice ice cream. obguthr (6344) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - NOV 19, 2011
Peppermint dominated aroma, some butterscotch. Black, thin tan head. blood consistency, alcohol a little too much. Creme de menthe flavor, very sweet, with dark chocolate notes. Beer’s version of a grasshopper, but not very well done. Too much mint. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - NOV 16, 2011
On tap @ the Brewpub, Rehoboth Beach De-Dark ruby pour w/a slight tan head. Minty aroma. Roasted almonds, chocolate, & mint....a lot of mint.....overpowering mint! Only thing I can compare it to is mint chocolate chip ice cream, which really isn’t a great beer flavor. Different, but I doubt I would drink this again, just a little too far out there....even by Dogfish Head standards! fjluiser (13) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 31, 2011
On tap at "Wexford Ale House". Not for me. Pours black with hints of red, barely translucent. Peppery? Burnt? Nutty?, otherwise difficult to describe.
