COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The elusive brew is made from pilsner malt and amber malt with an original gravity of 26.5?P, yielding an 11% abv. It's hopped with Warrior and Glacier varieties. Primary fermentation takes place in open vessels using two yeast strains, one American and one English. For added complexity, the beer is conditioned on barrel staves of French Oak for four months before being dry hopped with Glacier at the rate of a half-pound per barrel. This elixir is then blended 50/50 with 90 Minute IPA. After blending, the beer will measure 80 IBU and 10% abv. Bottled in corked bottles through Michael Jacksons rare beer club by late November 04 and available in 12 ounce full distribution in early January 05.

Pours a beautiful amber-orange. Off-white head barely lasts, leaving a trace of lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and alcohol dominates. Flavor is sour and bitter, driven by hoppiness, alcohol, and little else. Palate is characterized by moderate carbonation. Overall, this beer is definitely an IPA on steroids, but where was the oak aging? I suppose I could taste a little woodsiness, but I was a bit disappointed. But, if its a strong IPA youre after, this one delivers the goods.

A very nice DIPA. I view 90 minute as a gateway IPA. This would be the next step to becoming a real hophead. (or starting the journey). Nose is nice and hoppy. Never ending head! A very enjoyable beer that a hop head will chose over 90 minute. The wood aging is subtle but it can be detected.

12oz bottle at Newark Airport. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is oak, malt, pine, and citrus. Taste is a blast of sharp bitterness, like bitter greens and grapefruit followed by oaky whisky. Resiny, piney finish. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Gold with a off-white head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, pine, oak and fruitiness. Very noticeable alcohol content, but not too bitter.

2016 bottle from Discount. Pours a clear copper with a tiny bit of beige foam that dissipates. Malt, apricot and wood on the nose. Sweet on the palate, with some earthy hoppiness. Orange pith with a bitter, peppery finish. Oak smooth, with some nice, lingering dryness. Im diggin this.

[email protected], from NYC, USA. Pungent aroma with honey and slight bourbon. Darker orange color with minimal white head. Clear liquid. Strong, balanced taste with sweet malts, raisin and caramel malt. A hint of toffee. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, great taste though could have more sturdy and malty feeling.

12oz bottle - pours an orangey amber color with a medium soapy off white head. Kinda weird aroma with whiffs of bread, pine, caramel, herbaceousness and subtle oak. Interesting flavors....caramel, pine, oaky wood, sourdough and a lingering funky bitterness.
