Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has dark grains and vanilla with some earthy chocolate underlying. Flavor has a combination of milk chocolate and vanilla with sweet dark grains backing.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2018 Draft at One Mile House, NYC. pours dark amber-brown with no head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla. Taste is largely vanilla, with some chocolate notes, presumably from the carob. Finish is very sweet.

Pretty amazing brew, brownish pour and dark, smells distinctly of carob, but the body is nice and deep rich chocolate, tobacco and carob notes, perfectly balanced with a long vanilla after.

Aroma: very sweet - like funnel cake; Appearance: very dark amber with thin white head; Taste: sweet, vanilla; like a cookie; not boozy; Overall: good in small quantities.

Draft. Dark brown black pour. Definite banana and carob overtones, a touch too sweet, but it is a nice brew.

Medium chestnut brown pour, over the top as DFH is known for, and I dig it here. Vanilla wins the day, with light cocoa, roasted malt and a bubble gummy yeast presence. Total change of pace from anything I've had in a long while, and very enjoyable.

10oz snifter at the Dogfish Head Alehouse in Falls Church. Poured a very very dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma has plenty of vanilla and cocoa. Taste has vanilla, cocoa powder, booze and some nutty notes to it. Lots of clove and banana comes through on this one. This one grew on me as I consumed it.

Draft. Clear dark brown color light tan head. Aroma of big vanilla, cocoa. Taste has more vanilla, cocoa powder, booze. Decent.

Pours black w/out a head or lacing. Body is relatively thin w/ the dark wheat flavor standing out. Solid!
