On tap at the brew pub in Rehoboth Beach, served in a tasting glass. Pours cloudy pale straw with a small white head that fades to a patchy white fuzz. On the nose, it is peppery, with funky earthy notes, hops, spice and pale malts. The flavour is balanced, but does not amount to much of anything. The nose carries through and a hint of wasabi emerges in the middle and grows towards the end. The finish is long and subtly spicy. On the palate, it is light in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this one did not work for me; the wasabi adds a distinct spiciness but it is a bit jarring and the whole fails to come together. 2012-06-08 obxdude10 (2392) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Brewpub exclusive on draft in Rehoboth. This witbier pours a cloudy golden color with a subtle white head. The head leaves some decent lacing around the edges of the glass. The nose is a bit fruity, with some hints of bread, yeast and clove. The body is quite smooth and very drinkable. The flavors feature some banana, clove, spices, earth and bread. I’m not a big fan of witbiers, but this one was pretty decent.
