1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
While the label and bottle and cleverulartiy (yeah, I know) make this worth $6, it still ain’t a lot of good. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck and cloys (yeah, I know) like a duck and makes me wanna puke just like a duck I know named Steel Reserve - I never liked that bastard duck - then it must be a duck. Quack!
White capped 40 oz bottle with the paper bag. Mostly drank from the bottle but poured a bit out for my homies and to review. Hazyish light brown with a massive tan foam head. Nose is oxidation, bubble gum, sweet caramel, and corn. Taste is light caramel malts and faded hops. Has a certain character that I get from a lot of aged DFH beers. A sort of oxidized hop oil sweetness. Full mouth feel. Despite it’s age and the abv, it’s actually quite drinkable. DietPepsican (1591) - @ $13.99, Iowa, USA - FEB 21, 2015
It’s funny, I have 3 different notes on this beer. Going to go for the latest vintage as that is the one I enjoyed the most. Pours malt liquor yellow with a white head. Corn forward aroma, a bit of grape drink, some prickly alcohol notes. Earthy hop forwardness. Lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Grassy. Clean finish on this. Pretty good for a DFH product. djd07 (14655) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Bottle straight out the bag thanks to Funk. Pours a cloudy brown with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong toasted malt and burnt caramel. Thin mouthfeel with strong caramel malt and sweet finish. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - SEP 9, 2014
2009 40 oz bottle. Well that’s all the styles. Yellow pour with white head. Sweet malts aromas. Flavors are sweet and malty, mild oxidation, nice for a malt liquor . hershiser2 (3266) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - AUG 22, 2014
OLD rating just found. Pours yellow golden, yea I poured it. Smells grassy, corny. Tastes of cheap beer. Clever... in the fact that they made a cheap beer that enticed people to overpay.

Bottle (with the brown paper bag) from backlog notes 07. Pours a clear dark golden color with a small off white film. The aroma and flavor have swet grainy malts, corn, some alcohol at 7%, not so sweet its cloying, but nothing much else is going on. Worth trying once. Bottle in a bag stylee thanks to MHunt ! Pours a caramel color with a finger of gaseous eggshell foam. Lots of sweet corny cereal notes, canned cream corn, astringent alcohol burn... this was good for a laugh and a tick but no way could I consume more than a couple ounces of this rare sauce. I know it is stupid... but this is one of my long time whales... Tiklmelmo hooked me up with 2!! Jason is a stellar trader for sure... This is from the 2nd release in 2010.
This has been in my fridge since I received it... I cracked it to share with my brother and a work buddy who claims to be a "Malt Licka" aficionado.. This was the best of the bunch.
Pours clear dark gold on initial pours... but later they were sorta hazy golden... no lacing... short lasting white head.
Nose is clean maltiness... something that I guess is corn... smells like some bigger micro cream ales I’ve had over the years....
Flavor has a very lite splash of citrus/lighter floral hops that let you know this is not your every day drunk punch... pale malts and some corny goodness (i think) .... some booze for sure just to brand the style into your brain.
Again.. the body and carbonation are akin to a bigger cream ale... medium with a lite yet frothy carbonation.. definitely interesting.

7/13/13. 40oz from maltzilla - thanks Diego! Lightly hazed golden pour with a small khaki head. Light corn, butter, pale malts, bread. Not bad! Homer321 (5076) - Melboring, Florida, USA - JUL 13, 2013
Woody almost barrel aroma. Very sweet Not much corn as expected per the style. Sweet finish. Cloudy appearance. As a respected member of the craft beer community I would expect DFH to take their malt liquors more seriously.
