Too weird for me. Pours a clear light Amber. The grapes and saffron make t sort of confusing. I sense the historical aspect of what they are trying to do here, but I don't think I'll have another.

A: The beer pours a pinkish-red color with a small pink tinted head.
S: Despite being made with cherries, this seems to have more of a distinct apple pie aroma to this. Sweet fruit with plenty of spices, seems like cinnamon. A light tartness with a really nice cherry and apple aroma.
T: Tart and acidic, an almost Granny Smith apple kind of flavor. A bit cidery with a less pronounced apple pie flavor. Plenty of spices and pie flavor. A more obvious cherry character on the palate.
M: Light in body with medium carbonation.

On tap at the Dogfish Head Brewpub in Rehoboth Beach. Served in a 10 oz. snifter with a moderate head and decent carbonation. Delicious sour, lactic mouthfeel with a strong dry cherry flavor. Very decently sour and a stronger fruit flavor than most cherry ales such as Cerise (last time I tried it, anyway). Tap @ BBF:NOTF. Nose is a big ’ol fruit cake explosion - cinnamon, cherry, honey, banana, apple. Flavor follows - lots of spice and an overwhelming cinnamon character with bold caramel.

Pouring at the Night of the Funk in Boston. Pours a lightly hazed ruby orange with a thin white head. Sweet and floral, potpourri, lemon. Very sweet, spices and cinnamon. Malty and sweet, toast and a light soft acid. Mostly sweet cinnamon though as the dominant flavor. Not much acid, light nutty tang with more cinnamon on the finish.
