A witbier bursting with good karma. Made with dried organic orange slices, fresh-cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander, this Belgian-style white beer is a great thirst quencher. Namaste was originally brewed at our pub in Rehoboth Beach with our Italian friend Leo from Birra del Borgo. It was a tribute to our friends at 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium, who had devastating production loss (1/3 of their annual production) in 2009.

750 ml bottle from Coconuts, visible sediment at the bottom. Pale, yellow, cloudy appearance with a white head and minimal lacing. Aroma of lemons, grass, orange peel, citrusy hops, cilantro, herbs, and light spices. Smooth flavor, lightly tart and lightly bitter with a light body and soft carbonation. Not too fresh, still pretty tasty though.

Clear, yellow pour with a billowy, white head. The aroma is fresh and pleasant with lemon and pepper. It has a light, crisp body with lively carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter and slightly spicy with a dry finish.

Floral, lemon, balogna and skunk. Yellow and cloudy with a thick head. Taste burst on your tongue of Belgian ale, light citrus, wheat. A lot going on here, hard to explain. Good beer, light, palate cleansing.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a lasting thin white head and some spotty lacing. Tastes and smells of lemon, wheat, orange peel and spice. Light bodied, slightly sweet and a nice dry finish. Outstanding example of this style; especially after reviewing the Sam Adams version a moment ago.

Hazy gold with white head. Nose is wet wheat, hay, sweet corn, coriander, and citrus. Flavor is lightly sweet wheat that finishes quickly with lemon citrus and light spice. Moderately dry with ample carbonation. A fine session wit.

Definitely leaning toward the Berliner Weiss with this one. A touch of tartness and citrus, rather than the sweet and wheat witbier like Hoegaarden. Not bad.

On tap at the brewpub on 03/26/2011. Somewhat hazy golden body with a small creamy white head. Big citrus and orange aroma with coriander and spice. Big orange and coriander flavor with a light wheat background. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.
