man I’m sorry but I just don’t get/like this thing. pours a really lovely light golden/yellow. Taste just confoundedly perplexing. Taste like a sour but the whole package taste wise is a miss for me. Poured half the bottle down the drain. cant understand the high marks. Oh well. Thats what makes beer great, we all find different things good/bad. This was a clear miss for me. closey22 (1945) - Mt. 2013-05-24. Crisp dark yellow body small fluffy white head. Aroma is vaguely fruity, lightly grapey, pale malt. Bit if grassy touch to it, grainy malt undertones. Flavour is similar. Fruity, grape notes, pale malt, light bitterness. Light apple touches, general fruit. Grape skins. Alcohol grows as it goes. Average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. Decent but just okay. Bottle. Moderate straw for the malt, light herbs and lemon for the hops, moderate barnyard and musty for the yeast, with notes of apple and white wine. Head is small to average, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear golden. Flavor starts faintly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively to fizzy carbonation and finishes dry. This is a very unique Fruit Beer, it’s funky, refreshing and well balanced all in one. Pours clear yellow gold with a small white head. Smells fruity and a little vinous. Taste is fruity, a little bit sweet, very grapey. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and lightly fizzy mouth-carbonation, Dogfish Head Noble Rot finishes with some very dry white wine characteristics. CaraCurtis (117) - Nevada, USA - MAY 26, 2013
Pours a clear, champagne color, laces the glass slightly and with a frothy minimal head. The aroma of a white wine is obvious and present. There is a tad bit of bubbly on the palate and carbonation visible in the glass. It is dry and slightly reminds me of a Belgium style white ipa. Light bodied and some spices. 750ml bottle shared by jercraigs and mabel with me and blankboy. Pale gold, clear, large but diminishing frothy white head. Dry, lemony-wheaty aroma, maybe a hint of wineskin. Taste is alcohol, grapeskins, bit of champagne yeast. Average mouthfeel, solid carbonation, acidic, not boozy - interesting, but not amazing. jimhilt (2610) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Almost clear very pale yellow/amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Grape nose and flavor is tart grape. Dry finish. Called a saison but really closer to a wine flavor. Not cheap at $14.99 for a 750ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, MA.
