Dégustée en compagnie de Cédrick. La bière est orange et un important dépôt solide qui tombe lourdement et bruyamment au fond de mon verre. Le liquide présente des notes fruitées. La datte ayant sucré le liquide de son sucre plutôt sec, j’y détecte des notes de cassonade brûlée et macérée dans l’alcool car disons-le, cette bière cache très mal l’alcool qui la constitue! La figue de son côté apporte une rondeur agréable au liquide et un corps sans lequel la bière aurait été imbuvable. Légère amertume en fin de bouche laissée par un apport apprécié en houblons, cette bière se doit d’être partagée et dégustée lentement, très lentement. ehaak26 (518) - - FEB 21, 2017

Deep amber with a small cream colored head. Aroma is nutty and a bit phenolic. Lots of raw almond flavor with a huge alcohol hit quickly followed by a surprising hop bitterness. Thought letting it warm up a bit would bring out more sweetness and malt complexity - but it was simple bitter and medicinal. The alcohol strength here need the balance of more unfermentables and less hops.

I'm saddened to be disappointed by this one. 60-70 deg F in snifter. Copper color, fading head. Modest (?!) aroma of cigarette smoke, gunpowder, iron oxide, maybe urine. Intense malt presence, a tightly focused sweetish flavor, with a tingle around the tongue and alcohol peppering in the finish, lingering burn. Beer pours lightly cloudy orange color with a big off white head that mostly dissipates. Aroma is highly alcoholic to the point I had trouble picking up other aromas. Flavor is better. Strong fruit flavors, some maltiness, but again a bit too much alcohol burn. Alcohol just is not hidden well enough for my taste. Will try again in a year or so. Poured a hazy glden hue with a small white ehad. Aromas of sweetness and slight alcohol. Flavors were very sweet with a thick mouthfeel and the sweetness seemed to linger. zach says its ugly and I agree. honey, syrupy nose, a bit of muscat grape flavor, butterscotch, late alc and whiskey, very warming and likely far too young.
