Black pour with medium brown head. Poured into a snifter at Kalamazoo beer exchange. Sweet scent paired with chocolate. Super light mouth feel. Sweet on the tounge. Chicory taste, mostly malty. Super crisp dry finish. Leaves chalky film in your mouth reminiscent of the silt at the bottom of a cup of French pressed coffee.
Malty chocolate smell, superbly dark for a red. Woody taste comes on strong then slowly dissipates, after which the high alcohol content is quite apparent. Creamy with stout-like head. A serious beer, not for relaxing times.

12oz bottle at home. Dark brown/black with a small tan head, some lacing. Caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, muted hops, dark cherry fruit. Full-bodied, holds the alcohol very well. Wood comes through on the long smooth finish, really nice. Found this at a grocery store in Moncks Corner, the next one gets a cigar. beern (173) - Alabama, USA - SEP 12, 2017
Pours jet black and opaque with a nice dark, tan, 2-finger head with an aroma of wood and malt. Tastes of malt and slightly sweet cocoa with a slightly bitter wood and booze finish with a hint of nuts. It's medium to full bodied, drinkable and thinner than expected with minimal carbonation. The long finish reminds me of a dry, wood cabernet. It's unique and warming. ANZUShophunter (507) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 2, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2017 From bottle in tulip. Pours dark brown with thin tan head, and woody, earthy aroma mixed with molasses and booze. Rich taste (a mix of the above) with a sweet sticky finish. Enjoyable experience. jhking34 (16) - - SEP 1, 2017

Sweet, dark intense chocolate, vanilla, spices, dark chocolate. Hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, white head. Heavy sweet. More cacao, heavy sweet, rich and complex malts, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very nice ASA, bit punchy in the palate. Yum! Dark, rich brown in color with deep caramel head that diminishes quickly. Smell of sweet and malt. Taste is deep and complex. Starts off sweet and ends strong and roasty. Easy to drink for a 12% alcohol beer.

wowzer. for 12% this stuff tastes wonderful. Very woody roasty with a bit of vanilla and licorice. Small bit of boozyness in the flavor but you can feel it more on your tongue. awesome stuff.
