Completely opaque black pour with light brown head. Medium lacing. Aroma has coffee, chocolate, vanilla and dark fruits. Very thick syrupy body. Starts off very complex like an imperial stout. Roasty chocolate and coffee. A little bit of alcohol burn up front as well. Leads into a nutty middle and nice sweet finish. Great winter beer. Too bad it's spring.

Sweet, dark intense chocolate, vanilla, spices, dark chocolate. Hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, white head. Heavy sweet. More cacao, heavy sweet, rich and complex malts, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very nice ASA, bit punchy in the palate. Keg at Rattle’n’Hum Easy, Midtown. melwil1980 (3) - Roseau, Minnesota, USA - AUG 19, 2017 does not count
Yum! Dark, rich brown in color with deep caramel head that diminishes quickly. Smell of sweet and malt. Taste is deep and complex. Starts off sweet and ends strong and roasty. Easy to drink for a 12% alcohol beer.

Bottle. Pours dark ruby brown with a thick, creamy one-inch beige head. Aromas of wood, spice, dark fruit. What the hell is it? You can certainly imagine the wooden cask this was aged in. It’s not herbal or spice, but it definitely has a fresh earthy nose. The flavors mirror the aroma. There’s woody spice, earthiness, dark roasted malts, coffee, plum, toffee, dark chocolate--and all of these flavors are abundant, but in more subtle tones than I’m describing. In contrast, there is also a distinct grassiness and breadiness. Wow. This is unique. Noticeable alcohol warmth. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. This is really outstanding! Bottle from Liquor Barn. Aroma of roasted malts, wood, alcohol, and dark fruits. Frudel (252) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 8, 2017
Bottled. Black liquid with a small head diminishing to a beige circle around the glass. Nose is caramel malt, woody notes, molasses, dark dried fruits, hint of vanilla. Full body, very nice mouth feel. Taste is sweetness at first, some dark dried fruits, roasted malt, than wooden notes with an alcohol finish warming the throat, long aftertaste. Very unique one! I love it!
