750ml bottle thanks to jbeatty, appreciate it! Amber-gold color, decent head, looks good. Smell is odd, ginger? The taste is like a pale ale but there is definitely an odd ingredient here and I can’t help but think of ginger again but maybe its the sugar. I actually liked this more than I thought I would and drank my glass down with no problem. The price tag however would be a problem that would keep me from ever revisiting this beer but I think that is standard for DFH these days.

Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew and Meilby. Pours a hazy orange body with a big creamy white head. Nose is pumpkin, caramel, cinnamon, butterscotch, ginger and candy sugar. Nice and sweet. Taste is sweet ginger and peppery herbal tones, with hints of pumpkin and caramel malts. Sweet, but not unbalanced. Medium body and carbonation. A nice and unorthodox ale which could probably work well as a traditional Scandinavian Christmas beer. :-) Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 5, 2012
0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a deep golden one, lots of small particles and a small lacing off-white head. A bit of ginger on the aroma, but not extreme. Some cinnamon, wood, herbs, and melon zest. Softly carbonated with an oily texture. At first light sweet in flavor, caramel and malts. Some alcohol, tons of peppery spices, hint’s of sweet ginger and a little cookie dough. Liked this one 27.07.2012 TheChampion (114) - Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Pours a hazy golden color with a medium white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, ginger, caramel. Taste is similar but sweeter than the aroma suggests. Nice medium body. Meilby (11517) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 28, 2012

Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, herbs, cinnamon and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long spicy finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
September 30, 2011 with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. My 750ml bottle. Clear and refractive light amber with an average diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma is ... Belgian; tree fruit sweet malt, quite sharply yeasty, floral - rather like some of the golden Unibroue offerings - pear, apple, yeast, light spice, light alcohol - really want to go 8/10 but 7 will do. Taste is fruit-sweet with more alcohol than on the nose - still a bit light and simple. Average-light body, slightly sticky, only mildly carbonated, with a quick fruity finish, just a bit of a boozy sting in the tail - refreshing, but a bit sweet and simple. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 8, 2012
Great beer with a hint of ginger and sugary caramel flavors. Nice aroma of sweets and a great pour with nice effervescent head. ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - AUG 5, 2012
Deep golden with a small white head relatively clear. Aroma of malty caramel and ginger. Taste very close to aroma. Maybe with a bit more caramel, and some hints of spice. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - AUG 3, 2012
I give Dogfish Head credit for doing something different but this one doesn't do it for me. Too much ginger.

Poured from bottle, a hazy amber orange door with a creamy white head that left a good amount of lacing. Aroma is immediately ginger and spicy, maybe clove, some yeast. Great smell. The taste is a sweet malty taste. But there is a bit that comes from the ginger. The body is medium, not too thick, but good carbonation. I think there is a bitter finish from the ginger. Overall a great drink. unique. classic Dogfish.
