UPDATED: DEC 24, 2013 Bottle into footed pilsner glass, golden color, bubbly with fluffy white head. Aroma of malt sweetness and tea. Taste adds a note of pear and herbal hops. Light body, heavy carbonation, effervescent, clean with some grassy bitterness on the finish. Very good take on the classic pils, enjoyed.

Bottle. Gold body with a white head. Spicy hop aroma typical of a Saaz hopped Pils. The flavor has a fruity notes, must be the pear. The pear also smooths out the crisp edges from a typical Pils, giving this aspects of an ale. Lightly bitter and easy drinking.

Light gold pour with white head. Spicy light pepper and malt on the nose. Flavor is sweet malt start with a nice spiced hop finish. Medium/light bodied and smooth. Good medium bitter finish.

From a 12 oz bottle. Pours translucent gold with a big bubbled white head. Nose is pear and grassy hops. Medium in body. Favor is first very light citrus and and then the pear comes on with a rush. Finish is somewhat herbal. The pear hangs on. Dogfish Head is always pushing the experimental envelope and this one is no exception. I enjoyed this.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange gold with medium frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong grass and earth hop. Medium body, grass, bitter finish, decent.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain/bread), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a note of honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Not too bad, because thankfully the pear additions are not very apparent (still, why does DFH insist on putting unnecessary and sometimes downright stupid adjuncts in pretty much every single beer they make???)...in the nose it’s more like alfalfa honey, whereas in the mouth it does seem like it has a fruity acidity, which I’m not fond of for the style. Sweetness lingers rather long too, and there’s not quite enough bitterness to clean the finish up. Kinda flabby watery-syrupy mouthfeel is probably the weakest link. Mediocre but better than usual for this brewery.

Seemed true to style -surprised by the additions. Nose is grassy and buttery. Clear gold with nice lacing. No off taste, well made and balanced. Dry, yes very dry, clean finish. Thirst quenching mouthfeel. Really good.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A big sweet corn pils malt nose. The flavor is sweet toasted malt, citrus, huge dry pilsner malt. Solid. Clean.
