Enjoyable. Definitely some spice and sweetness, but maybe a drop too much alcohol on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The Pour: Pours a light honey-brown. Two finger head (it died down a bit before I got the lighting right for the picture), with nice lacing occurring. The Bouquet: Smells sweet with caramel, brown sugar, and allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, with a touch of vanilla. Smells like what you would expect from a pumpkin pie custard. There is a certain sharpness to the nose as well. From the nose you can tell this beer has a little oomph to it. The Sip: There is a burst of brown sugar that fades into the pumpkin pie spice and returns in the finish. There is a bit of alcohol bite that gives it a bit of bitterness, which is necessary to balance out the sweetness of the brown sugar. The roasted malt gives Punkin a woody vanilla quality that adds a certain warmth to round out the beer. Mouth-Feel: Medium to full-bodied brown ale that doesnt overwhelm but still stakes its claim to the taste buds. Overall: This is a solid choice for a pumpkin seasonal. I would recommend this with turkey or pastrami on rye, or watching the game with relatives on Turkey Day. A very well balanced brew, I would drink this year-round if I could.

Pours a clear amber color with a small ivory head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is brown bread, pumpkin but not overpowering, and some spices but faint. In the flavor I pick up lightly roasted malts, caramel, some spice up front with a mild hop kick, and there is some pumpkin but once again not overpowering.

355ml bottle at House of Belgium, Xiamen. Pours clear orange brown with a white head. Aroma of malt and vegetable. Not picking up the spices. Can taste brown sugar. Sweetish finish.

Sample at brewery. Orangey golden with nice head and lacing. Smells sweet, lightly spiced, and grainy. Spiced, but not terribly overdone.

32 oz crowler pours a hazy orange color with a nice white head. Aromas of pumpkin, sugar, roasted malt. Medium bodied, a nice pumpkin ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light amber with small fast fading head. Smells of pumpkin spices as would be expected but the flavor lacks any real pumpkin flavor and it seems thin for a 7% brew. Not full bodied, not brown, not really tasting much pumpkin, so overall yet another over priced big hype dogfish failure. Not sure why I took the chance since dogfish has let me down many times with their pricey nasty brews but guess it was a momentary lack of thinking that I hope never to have again on future dogfish offerings.

Basic pumpkin. . . .to be honest, I was expecting more from Dogfish Head. Good, not great.
